There’s been radio silence on all but one of the Silent Hill projects announced last year (and fans would rather not talk about Silent Hill Ascension at the moment), so some news has been needed on them for some time. Earlier this year, Steam achievements popped up for the game before being taken down again.
The Silent Hill 2 remake is being developed by Polish studio Bloober Team, who have created horror games such as Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium. It’s been a contentious choice for the fanbase, who have concerns Bloober is the wrong fit for a Silent Hill game, despite reassurances from the developer that it was taking great care to keep things faithful to the revered original.
Konami yesterday seemed to let slip that other old Silent Hill titles could get the remake treatment beyond Silent Hill 2 after an earnings report mentioned Silent Hill ”remakes”.

It’s been years since Konami had any sort of meaningful involvement in major AAA game development, though the company is, of course, looking to re-enter the space with a number of upcoming major projects, including multiple Silent Hill games.
Konami is hiring for «large-scale projects» associated with its Silent Hill franchise.
For almost two decades, the franchise has not had the best of luck with critical or commercial reception — for good reason, the last outstanding game released under the banner was arguably back in 2004. Although this may change with three upcoming games and a movie, the latest release,, as well as a steady stream of disheartening rumors has made it a terrible time to be a fan.
With Konami and Bloober Team having been dead silent about the Silent Hill 2 remake since its announcement in October last year, fans have had to go looking for alternative sources of information on the game. Some of that seemed to emerge in a recent Best Buy pre-order listing for the highly anticipated survival horror remake, which claimed that the game would include a new playable origin story for the iconic monster known as Pyramid Head.
New details about the plot of Silent Hill: The Short Message, the previously leaked Silent Hill game that has still yet to be officially announced by Konami, have leaked via the Australian Classification Board and Classification Review Board’s Annual Reports for 2022 to 2023.
The long-rumoured but unannounced Silent Hill: The Short Message has had its plot details leaked by the Australian government's rating body.
Update 7/11/2023: Konami has said Best Buy "had the incorrect information" regarding Silent Hill 2 Remake's Pyramid Head origin story.
A Best Buy product page for Silent Hill 2 Remake has sparked fan fears of a Pyramid Head origin story.
Bloober Team and Konami's forthcoming Silent Hill 2 remake will feature a playable origin story for Pyramid Head, according to a Best Buy listing. Specifically it says "fan favourite character, Pyramid Head, makes a return along with a special origin story for fans to play through." That's pretty much all she wrote, where the much vaunted "news-reporting" aspect of this news article is concerned. Now to spend several hundred words whining about why this is probably a terrible idea.
Updates on Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 have completely dried up since its announcement a little over a year ago, though it seems some new details about new content that will be included in the game have managed to find their way into the limelight nonetheless.
Konami currently has three Silent Hill games in production that we know of in an official capacity, with Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Townfall, and a remake of Silent Hill 2, though interestingly enough, it seems the latter might not be the only remake in the series that’s in development.
