Silent Hill 2 Remake Will Feature a “Special Origin Story” for Pyramid Head – Rumour

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2, a remake of Konami’s classic psychological horror title, is in development. However, there haven’t been many big announcements for it in recent months. Its Steam page has seen updates, and Konami recently clarified that the leaked “special origin story” for Pyramid Head is “incorrect,” but nothing on a release date.

Bloober Team, the developer behind the, has recently given an update on the status of the game. They also addressed fans’ criticism for lack of communications.

Silent Hill fans have waited for what felt like an eternity for Konami to return the franchise. When Hideo Kojima unveiled that he would revive the IP with Silent Hills, things looked up. However, abruptly, the famed developer parted ways with Konami, and thus, the game project was canceled. Since then, it has been back in waiting, but fortunately, last year, we finally got the grand revival announcement. Konami was going to bring back Silent Hill in a big way with several game projects and even a new movie installment. One of those game projects in the works was a remake of Silent Hill 2. 

For almost two decades, the franchise has not had the best of luck with critical or commercial reception — for good reason, the last outstanding game released under the banner was arguably back in 2004. Although this may change with three upcoming games and a movie, the latest release,, as well as a steady stream of disheartening rumors has made it a terrible time to be a fan.

With Konami and Bloober Team having been dead silent about the Silent Hill 2 remake since its announcement in October last year, fans have had to go looking for alternative sources of information on the game. Some of that seemed to emerge in a recent Best Buy pre-order listing for the highly anticipated survival horror remake, which claimed that the game would include a new playable origin story for the iconic monster known as Pyramid Head.

Fresh details about a previously leaked but unannounced Silent Hill game have emerged via the Australian Classification Board (ACB).

That's pretty much all she wrote, where the much vaunted "news-reporting" aspect of this news article is concerned. Now to spend several hundred words whining about why this is probably a terrible idea.

A store listing for Silent Hill 2 Remake implies that the game will give us an origin story for Pyramid Head - a prospect that terrifies fans. In fact, many of them are fearful and confused, not sure how a backstory for Pyramid Head could even work, given that he's, you know... a manifestation of James Sunderland's feelings, not a real dude who just turned out like that.

Today, AMD announced a new partnership with Polish game developer and publisher 11 bit (This War of Mine, Frostpunk). AMD will become the studio's technological partner, providing support on all of the future games developed and/or published by 11 bit, such as Frostpunk 2, The Alters, The Invincible (out next Monday), The Thaumaturge (out December 5), Codename Project 8, and more unannounced titles. The tech partnership will work across various devices powered by AMD technology: desktop PCs, laptops, handhelds, and consoles.
