With Konami and Bloober Team having been dead silent about the Silent Hill 2 remake since its announcement in October last year, fans have had to go looking for alternative sources of information on the game. Some of that seemed to emerge in a recent Best Buy pre-order listing for the highly anticipated survival horror remake, which claimed that the game would include a new playable origin story for the iconic monster known as Pyramid Head.
That, however, seems to be inaccurate. In a statement provided to Eurogamer, Konami has said that the mention of a Pyramid Head origin story on the Best Buy page was “incorrect information”, and has since been removed from the page.
Of course, fans are still left wondering how long it’ll be before Konami does choose to share an official update on the game, especially with developer Bloober Team having said a couple of times over the past year that development is close to completion.
Whenever it does launch, Silent Hill 2 will be available on PS5 and PC.
