Publisher Nordcurrent Labs and developer Misfit Village have announced SCOP-inspired first-person horror investigation game Go Home Annie. It will launch for unspecified consoles and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG in 2024.
“We’re big fans of the crowdsourced fiction that’s made up the SCP Foundation over the years, and we wanted to offer our own contribution in game form,” said Misfit Village creative director Mladen Bosnjak in a press release. “Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with SCP fiction though, as Go Home Annie offers a standalone horror adventure that will raise the hairs on any horror fan’s neck!”
Nordcurrent Labs head of publishing Andrius Mackevicius added, “We were instantly enamored with Go Home Annie‘s sheer imagination and execution, It was immediately clear to us that the mad geniuses at Misfit Village had a keen understanding of horror, and an original take on the genre that’s full of surprises, verve, and creative energy.”

Very few video games have truly changed the way we play. The likes of Half-Life, World of Warcraft, and Fortnite are once-in-a-generation shifts. October 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of one of those seismic games: the original Call of Duty. What began as an attempt to beat Medal of Honor at its own game turned into a monolithic franchise with over 400 million sales across 30 different games. It was a significant turning point for both FPS campaign design and online multiplayer, ushering in an era of cinematic set pieces and ladder-based progression. Call of Duty was, undoubtedly, the FPS that changed shooters forever.
SFB Games, the developers behind Snipperclips and Tangle Tower, are dipping their toes into PS1-inspired survival horror with Crow Country. Right now, it’s slated for PS5 and Steam, and while I can’t find a release window, there’s a demo available starting today.
