First-person melee horror Hellpunk revealed in very brief trailer

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has been talking to his shadowy sources again and has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI (or GTA 6 to it’s mates) will be officially announced in the very future, possibly as early as next week.  He also states that a trailer for the game will launch in December “to celebrate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary.”

If you've ever gazed out across a landscape of misty spires and vast machines and thought "ah, if only I could explore and savour all that without getting my head kicked in by walking skeletons every five minutes", The Silent Swan from Basque Country, Spain-based developer Praenaris might be the game for you. Released today, it gives you a massive, gloomy map full of towering, greeny-black Gothic structures that are packed with backstory documents, but contain absolutely no enemies. The only thing separating you from all that winding, lore-drenched architecture is distance. Check out the trailer below.

Today's Xbox Partner Preview brought us a new look at Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake announced earlier this year. In the trailer, we get a first look at the game's use of Unreal Engine – it's unclear if it's Unreal Engine 4 or 5, though – alongside some quick snippets of tactical espionage action.

October 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of one of those seismic games: the original Call of Duty. What began as an attempt to beat Medal of Honor at its own game turned into a monolithic franchise with over 400 million sales across 30 different games. It was a significant turning point for both FPS campaign design and online multiplayer, ushering in an era of cinematic set pieces and ladder-based progression. Call of Duty was, undoubtedly, the FPS that changed shooters forever.

Atlus has dropped a bunch of details and information about Persona 3 Reload, their modern remake of the classic JRPG from the PS2 and PSP. Persona 3 Reload is out on 2nd February 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC – it will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Publisher DreadXP and developer Stroboskop have announced Sylvio: Black Waters, the third entry in the atmospheric first-person horror series. It will launch for unspecified consoles and PC in early 2024.

Publisher Nordcurrent Labs and developer Misfit Village have announced SCOP-inspired first-person horror investigation game Go Home Annie. It will launch for unspecified consoles and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG in 2024.

Italian studio Stone Shelter has announced CTRL-U, a science-fiction first-person parkour action adventure game for PC (Steam). A release date was not announced.

I’ll admit I entered my hands-on demo with Assassin’s Creed Nexus with a bit of pessimism – could Assassin’s Creed work as a first-person VR game? And then I found myself repeatedly answering that key question with “Yes!” for an entire hour. Not only does Assassin’s Creed Nexus seem to be a full-featured Assassin’s Creed game that incorporates stealth, combat, and parkour, but from what I played so far, each of those pieces works surprisingly well and comes together to capture the entire assassin fantasy with shocking efficacy. I brought a lot of skepticism onto that demo floor, but by the time I left it I was grinning ear-to-ear.
