Resident Evil 4 Remake is a triumph from Capcom, a truly dark and grueling version of the action horror game that redefined the genre. While the game hasn’t had the same staying power as the original so far, it’s understandable, given that it’s much more focused on providing a challenging modern Resident Evil experience.

Resident Evil is one of the key pillar franchises for Capcom. This series has spanned across several console generations at this point. We’ve seen mainline installments continue to come out into the marketplace alongside spinoffs. However, as of late, we’ve started to see Capcom embrace the older games. Revealed just last week during Sony's State of Play presentation, Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways is heading our way very soon indeed. This DLC add-on for the excellent remake recounts Ada Wong's perspective on the story, and the agent brings some new gameplay dynamics to the survival horror title.

Having made a flurry of announcements during last night's State of Play livestream, Capcom has provided a deep dive into all the upcoming Resident Evil 4 content on the PlayStation Blog. The Ada Wong-focused DLC Separate Ways is the headliner, which brings back the optional campaign from the original game for $9.99. A free update for the Mercenaries mode arrives on the same day of 21st September 2023, and then the PSVR2 mode is still slated to launch this winter. All three expansions can be seen in action in the trailer above.
