There is no shortage of Resident Evil fans hungry for something new to enjoy. The video game franchise has thrived over the years and most recently found a new market with remakes. With the likes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 being hits for fans, it was only recently that fans could continue with this trend. Capcom released Resident Evil 4, the remake, in March of this year. Fans were able to enjoy the campaign following Leon through another thrilling fight against a bioterrorism organization. However, the game didn’t release entirely, as fans have been waiting on the secondary campaign to emerge.
If you don’t recall, Resident Evil 4 had another campaign fans could go through called Separate Ways. This DLC would allow players to go through the campaign but as Ada Wong. So while we see Ada throughout the campaign as our time playing Leon, this Separate Ways campaign showcases some of the adventures Ada was going through when not directly saving Leon from utter disaster. But this Ada Wong campaign was missing from the game, and fans expect that this DLC is coming out and perhaps even expanded on from the original release.
Now a new clue might indicate an announcement is coming sooner rather than later. This comes from the folks over at PCGamesN, who found some updates were made in the backend of Resident Evil 4 on Steam. That doesn’t reveal what exactly was adjusted, but the speculation that is going around online right now is that this might be the big DLC release. Capcom has been pretty secretive regarding the Ada Wong storyline for Resident Evil 4, so we might get a surprise announcement soon.
Of course, this could not have anything to do with the Separate Ways campaign. Really, all we can do is wait and see if Capcom makes a big reveal for the game. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already played through Resident Evil 4’s remake, the game is available to pick up and play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. We also have a Before You Buy video coverage for the title, which you can view down below. Now here’s hoping we get the official reveal and confirmation of the missing Ada Wong storyline soon. Afterward, we might eventually see news regarding a Resident Evil 9 or perhaps another remake from the franchise.

If you were eager to try out Alan Wake 2, then you might already have a new heads-up of where the developers took inspiration from. The fanbase has incredibly anticipated this upcoming installment of the Alan Wake franchise. It took several years to get a full-fledged sequel out into the marketplace. This October, we’ll finally get to dive back into this twisted world and see where Alan has been and what he’s up to after all these years. But while we still have a little bit of a wait on our hands before we can get into the game, a new interview from the game director, Kyle Rowley, might help offer some insight into what players can expect.
Alan Wake 2's developers took inspiration from Capcom's Resident Evil series as it wanted players to feel "more vulnerable" while playing the sequel.
Every mainline entry in the series as well as several other great spin-offs are included in the latest Humble Bundle.
Resident Evil 4 DLC might be on its way sooner than we expected, as survival horror game developer Capcom implements some changes to RE4 on Steam, updating the shooter for some possible new material. Naturally, we’re expecting the Ada Wong-led campaign Separate Ways, which was not originally included as part of Resident Evil 4 Remake. But the Steam updates could also be connected to new material for the Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries minigame.
Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake has sold more copies than any other title in the horror franchise’s 27-year history, after passing 12.6 million cumulative lifetime sales across console and PC.
It recently outpaced Resident Evil 7.
Capcom has a few massive franchises that take the market by storm with every release. However, when it comes to their biggest-selling franchise, Resident Evil, it’s always interesting to see just what game comes out on top. Today, we’re finding out that the franchise is still thriving, and one of the previous most significant installments has officially been dethroned. It looks like Resident Evil 2, the 2019 remake, has officially taken the top spot in regards to units sold. How long will this title last before it becomes overtaken?
Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 2 is now the best-selling game in the horror series.
The Resident Evil franchise has exhibited incredibly long legs where its sales are concerned, and unsurprisingly, that continues to be the case. Capcom has updated its list of Platinum Titles, providing updated sales numbers for its Resident Evil games, and there have been some interesting developments.
You take the scares, oppressive atmosphere, and keen resource management of Resident Evil. Mix all that with Slay the Spire’s in-depth card and deck systems, and the wonderfully crunchy turn-based combat of Darkest Dungeon. While you’re at it, throw in some terrifying Eldritch-style body horror and the unnerving, lo-fi visuals of indie hits like Lone Survivor and Signalis. Congratulations. You’ve just cooked up Draft of Darkness, a petrifying roguelike deckbuilder and card game that’s about to hit full launch on Steam. And I hope you’re happy, because the bizarre flesh monsters that prowl Draft of Darkness’s world are coming to kill us all.
Resident Evil 2 remains one of the best survival horror games ever made. From the iconic RPD building, to boss encounters like William Birkin, the 1998 original is still worth playing – alongside the equally excellent RE2 Remake – to this day. But with Capcom reportedly scouting a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake, and the new movie, Death Island, just hitting launch, there will soon be a whole-new way to experience Resident Evil 2, remade in first-person in the Unity engine.
