Season of Discovery Phase 3 is bringing more updates to Professions, adding new quest chains, uncapping the Skill levels, and adding brand-new gear and reusable flasks to the game. Players will be able to fully experience the Profession leveling process with uncapped Skill levels, and Blizzard has added some new surprises into the traditional professions as well!
SoD Phase 3 Launches April 4
In their announcement video for Phase 3, Blizzard announced that Professions would be once again updated to provide new content for the Phase.
Quests will be added to bring players into the Sunken Temple, the newest Season of Discovery raid, to discover the crafting recipes for powerful Nightmare Armaments — the newest additions to the Season of Discovery crafted epics. While many of these epics function while players are under the influence of the Nightmare, not all do — and not all gear was shown, even though Blizzard teased things like reuseable flasks for Alchemists as well.
Additionally, Blizzard discussed the changes they are making to gold sinks related to Professions.
While they believe that gold sinks are important and want to continue exploring them in the future, they don't want to do that in a way that will directly harm the gearing pipeline, and as a result the cost of new recipes added in Phase 3 will be «essentially free» in terms of raw gold. Along with that, Gnomeregan recipes will be reduced in cost as well — a great move for players looking to pick up those recipes!
That's not all Blizzard has done — Professions will finally be able to select Specializations, and those Specializations have some surprises in store.

World of Warcraft recently implemented a restriction for new accounts in Classic Season of Discovery that stops them from trading with other characters, using the auction house, or sending and receiving in-game mail. These limitations, imposed on World of Warcraft accounts until they have had a paid subscription for at least 30 days, were added for similar reasons as last year’s restriction on WoW token purchases.

A new Season of Discovery questline has been discovered and reported to us by Wowhead user Geartrix, allowing Goblin and Gnomish Engineers to learn recipes from the other specialization! Goblin and Gnomish Engineers have traditionally been blocked from learning recipes associated with the other Specialization once locked in. This, however, looks to have changed in Phase 3 with the implementation of Engineering Exchange Ticket. After leveling Engineering to 225 and unlocking a Specialization, players will have access to a new quest (Gnomish Solutions/Goblin Solutions) offered by Fizzbizz Coppercoil in the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles. For Gnomish Engineers, this quest requires two Gnomish Harm Prevention Belt, while Goblins need to provide 5 Goblin Land Mine. Turning in this quest gives you another — this time to kill Thunderstomp Stegodon in Un'goro Crater for a Thunderstomp Stegodon Horn (Require Gnomish Problems/Require Goblin Problems). Next, you'll need to complete the quest Watering Down the Competition by heading to Hearthglen and finding a Box of Scarlet Dye upstairs in one of the houses next to the bed. Return to the Shimmering Flats once more, and after a few more quests such as Victory Lap for the Gnomes!, you'll be directed to speak with Maximillian «The Greaser» — who will offer the quest Hush Money, which can be completed weekly for an Engineering Exchange Ticket. It appears that it will take eight weeks to earn all available recipes for each Specialization.Maximillian «The Greaser» will then offer you recipes for the opposite specialization — take a look!
