The return of Eddy Gordo, the capoeira specialist who’s been a fan-favorite in the long-running Tekken series since his franchise debut 25 years ago, should have been a slam dunk for Bandai Namco. Launching a little over a month ago, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown may not have got off to a great start from a sales perspective (if reports are to be believed, at least), but the 2D Metroidvania action-platformer has, nonetheless, received near-universal acclaim from those who’ve played it, and it seems that reception hasn’t gone unnoticed at Ubisoft.

A rare contract you can accept in will pit you and your crew against a mysterious Ghost Ship whose supernatural traits make it hard to beat. The Maangodin vessel prowls the seas and has driven many a soul into Davy Jones' locker. You will have to adopt a new strategy to win by targeting a few vulnerabilities on this cursed, undead ship.

I got the platinum in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth. It's a fun one. Continues the trend of recent Yakuza games having much less intense trophy lists. Still have to play a lot of it but you don't need to do every single thing.

Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight and Dead Cells have breathed new life into the genre, bringing fresh ideas to its established ethos. There's also a renewed appetite for challenging games. Dark Souls came around in 2011 and redefined what one could take away from a video game. They can be fun, sure. But they can be punishing, too. Fast forward a decade, and we now have people playing Elden Ring with a steering wheel. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ubisoft's latest Metroidvania action-adventure platformer, assimilates elements from these games and subgenres to tread familiar ground, but it does so in its own unique ways.

It might seem like you’re going to have to scour the massive map of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in hopes of finding all of the game’s Athra Surges. Luckily, however, this isn’t the case. Thus begins the wolves' hot pursuit - not least because this robot also seems to be kind of sleeper agent for them - and your roguelike-shaped quest to avenge your fallen friends.
