Pokemon kicked off what appears to be a big year on the Funko Pop! front for the franchise by teasing the addition of six new figures. Only one of the Pops had a silhouette in the promo image with the other five plinths left empty, and since many of us were raised on playing Who's That Pokemon in the ad breaks, it didn't take long to figure out the first of the six is Lucario. Likely Pearlescent Lucario since the Pokemon already has its own regular Pop, a first proper look at the new figure has now been revealed.
Turns out we were right and all those years of guessing who that Pokemon was based on nothing but their outlines really paid off. The figure's design is the same as the normal Lucario Pop! except it has been given a shiny, pearlescent makeover. Appropriate for Pokemon since it means even in the Funko world, shiny hunters can do their thing. No indication on when the Pop will be available, but it seems likely it will go on sale later today. When it does, the link to its store page will be added to the box below.
No price details revealed just yet either and all we know for certain for now is that the figure will be a Pokemon Center exclusive. That was the case for the prior six pearlescent Pops added to Pokemon's collection, all of which are now sold out. As for the other five that will be joining Lucario, fans have already been trying to guess what they might be. For now, those guesses are merely hopes since there's no discernable pattern with just one of the six revealed.
Pokemon has given its Lucario Funko Pop! a pearlescent makeover. The seventh Pokemon Pop! to be given the shiny treatment and the first of six new ones coming in 2024.
All six of the pearlescent Pops in Pokemon's first wave were well-known, much-loved 'mons from the original 151. It might have made sense for the next six to be Johto additions, but since Lucario wasn't introduced until we went to Sinnoh, that theory has already been squashed. There's a chance all six are from Sinnoh, but all we know for now is that the other five have to be Pokemon that already have Pops.
Umbreon got its first Pop! in 2023 and Pokemon quickly followed up with a flocked variant. Clearly popular, and with Eevee already a part of the pearlescent collection, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Dark-type Eeveelution as a part of this new wave.
Just 17 days into 2024 and there's already a lot for Pokemon Funko Pop! collectors to keep up with. Not only Lucario but also three Pokemon making their Pop! debuts in Wooloo, Luxray, and Grookey. There's also a Deluxe Pop! Moment available for pre-order that transforms the moment you were tasked with choosing your starter Pokemon in Red & Blue into a fancy Funko display.

Obsidian Entertainment has been heavily emphasizing player choice and freedom in the lead-up to its first-person fantasy roleplaying game Avowed. In line with that you're-the-center-of-the-universe message, the developers have revealed that there's "no one perfect build" in its classless RPG.
includes a lot of information hidden in notes or behind specific dialogue options. As for Origin characters, playing through with them instead of a custom Tav fills in their stories and triggers cutscenes and dialogues that wouldn't be available otherwise. However, there's one Origin character that requires more work to fill in their background thanks to a case of amnesia – the Dark Urge.
A Fortnite dataminer found images of another Metal Gear character, Raiden, who will likely be coming to the game soon. Fortnite's crossover with the Metal Gear franchise is the battle royale's latest collaboration.
Tracking down and buying the Funko Pops you want is really only half the battle. Whether you're trying to find room for five or 50, figuring out ways to properly display your Pops can be a bit of a headache. Sure, you could put them on a shelf or decorate your desk with them, but is that really what you want for your precious Pops? If so, that's fine. Good for you. If you want something more, and I'm assuming you do since you're reading this, Funko has shown off two new Bitty Pop! displays officially created for showing off your miniature figures.
CD Projekt Red may be teasing the location for 's sequel — currently codenamed Project Orion — and potentially the year it's set in. If so, the sequel could take place in a futuristic version of a real-world location, being a departure from 's completely fictional Night City.
The Marvel slate is looking a little barren in 2024 when compared to other years as of late, and that's probably a good thing. Between TV shows on Disney Plus and MCU blockbusters not making as much as they used to, a year in which there isn't as much Marvel content may well make more casual fans hungry for what's still to come. That said, there will still be some new Marvel stuff in 2024, and two of its biggest upcoming projects already have their own Funko Pops.
This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, we discuss Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct 2024, our first look ahead at the year to come from one of the big three console makers.
Xbox kicked off 2024 in style with a Developer_Direct that provided looks at a number of upcoming games, and checking out what all was shown is one of the best ways to get a good sense of what fans can expect in the coming year. Similar to Nintendo Directs or PlayStation State of Plays, the Developer_Direct is an efficient way of conveying information and reveals in a video stream format. The name isn't just for style, however, as the Xbox Developer_Direct also gives studios a chance to talk about their titles outside the basic gameplay footage.
