PlayStation veteran Connie Booth has joined EA as its new group general manager of action RPG.
As reported by IGN, Booth will report directly to EA's entertainment head, Laura Miele.
One of her new duties will include revitalizing the BioWare studio, which is currently developing Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
"I have known Connie for many years and have always been impressed by her love and commitment to games. She especially cares about game developers," said Miele. "She has an impeccable reputation within the development community and will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our games."
News of Booth joining EA comes five months after she left Sony Interactive Entertainment.
During her 34-year stint at PlayStation, Booth led production on games such as Syphon Filter, the Uncharted series, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
Back in 2020, she was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame for her contributions to the games industry.

Look up to the skyline, and tell me what you see. It is me, standing on a hill, uttering firmly with my dying breath: Mass Effect: Andromeda was pretty good. For anyone currently gathered around the hill, searching the pockets of their N7 hoodies for more heavy objects to fling at me, however, here’s some good news: the as-yet unnamed Mass Effect 5 is in the capable hands of “trilogy vets”, according to project director Michael Gamble, via Le Epic Musk Zone (OP didn’t steal), formerly Twitter. The team heading up the space game franchise’s next entry comprises of veterans of the first three games in various leading roles, namely: Art Director, Game Director, Creative Director, and Executive Producer.
It’s been a long time since the glory days of the original Mass Effect trilogy, and though the series’ fanbase remains as strong and loud as it has ever been, there’s little doubt that the sci-fi franchise’s stock has fallen notably over the years, thanks in large part to the misstep that was Mass Effect: Andromeda. Series fans will, however, take solace in the fact that its next mainline instalment’s development is being led by veterans who’ve been working on the franchise for a long, long time.
Veteran Sony executive Connie Booth exited PlayStation after a 30-year career at the firm, a surprising move that caused some confusion late last year after outspoken God of War creator David Jaffe let the cat out of the bag on social media. We still don't have the full details on her departure or whether the split was amicable, but we do know where Booth will end up next. The illustrious exec has accepted the very impressive-sounding title of Group General Manager, Action RPG, at EA.
