Palworld developer apologizes for ‘unintentionally’ fixing fan favorite bug in latest patch

Palworld developer Pocketpair will remain a small studio, despite the success of its «Pokémon with guns» survival game.

Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed that talks are ongoing for the game to come to more platforms. Palworld was initially released in January for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, leaving PlayStation and Nintendo Switch gamers wondering when they'll be able to get their hands on one of the most popular games of the game.

Pocketpair has said it’s in discussions to bring its smash hit Palworld to additional platforms.

It’s hard to imagine that we’re going to get a bigger surprise hit in all of 2024 than Palworld. The survival game launched as an early access title in January, and within a month, it had attracted over 25 million players across all platforms. It’s safe to say that developer Pocketpair has very much put itself on the map- but what does it have planned for the future? For instance, is the independent Japanese studio looking to get acquired?

No one could have expected that Palworld would go on to become one of 2024’s biggest success stories in the games industry. Dubbed “Pokemon with guns” in the lead-up to its release, the action-adventure survival title saw an instant explosion in popularity upon its early access release in January, becoming the biggest ever third-party launch on Game Pass and Steam’s second-highest concurrently played game to date, with its total player count standing at 25 million within a month of its launch.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios has been dishing out updates at a steady pace ever since launch, tweaking and adding certain things to try and make its game the best it can be. Some of these changes haven't been all that well-received, but the game's most recent patch has finally made things a little easier on players by lowering the spawn rate of Bile Titans and Chargers, two bug variants that have been causing trouble lately.

The recently launched tactical RPG Unicorn Overlord is so popular in Japan that its publisher, Atlus, has issued an official apology for stock shortages.

One Palworld player has built the island of Marineford from the long-running One Piece anime. Palworld is a survival-crafting game with a strong gameplay loop, allowing players to capture different types of creatures, craft bases from resources, and explore an immersive world filled with enemies. It features various events, including time-limited dungeons and tower bosses, that keep players hooked on the game.

City of Heroes was recently updated with its first official update since the game shut down in 2012 with Homecoming’s Issue 27, Page 7 patch. While Homecoming, as well as other servers, have been operating and publishing updates for many years now, NCsoft gave the Homecoming team the official license to operate City of Heroes back in January.
