There’s been no shortage of recent indications that Star Wars Outlaws is going to release sooner than many expect. In addition to age ratings going up in Brazil, Australia, and South Korea, promotional pre-order material for the game has also been spotted in the wild, while leaks have previously claimed that the game is due out in the first half of the year. Now, a release date has leaked, and though it’s not quite in the first half of 2024, it’s still not terribly far away.

Dave the Diver team Mintrocket has today announced the PS5 and PS4 versions of its 2023 indie hit will release on 16th April 2024, and they'll be available straight away via PS Plus Extra also. Current members of Sony's subscription service will be able to download and play the game without charge, granting them access to the original experience and a bit of Godzilla-themed DLC in May.

In Ubisoft’s entire slate of upcoming games right now, it’s hard to point at any game that’s looking like it’s going to be a bigger deal than Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws. How long it’ll be before Ubisoft begins dropping more details on the open world action-adventure game remains to be seen, but new tidbits have emerged on its PC version in particular.

Ubisoft released its third quarter fiscal year 2024 sales report and confirmed that titles like Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Star Wars Outlaws will launch between April 21st, 2024 and March 31st, 2025. Fans can expect the line-up, which includes The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile, to be revealed in May.

Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has confirmed its RPG will launch on new-gen Xbox consoles this year. However, it will be missing a multiplayer feature – split-screen co-op – on the Xbox Series S.

A renewed and expanded focus on PC-centric games has been an important part of Xbox’s first party push in recent years. Sony previously unveiled its plans to release a handheld streaming device codenamed Project Q. After a period of silence, we’ve now gotten a better glimpse of the device and its specs. The streaming device’s official name is the PlayStation Portal, and it is set to launch this year with a $199.99 price tag.

The wait for Dead Island 2 lasted nearly a decade, but the game did finally launch earlier this year, and turned out to be a critical and commercial success. In May, it was revealed that the action RPG had sold over 2 million units worldwide, and interestingly enough, Embracer Group – parent company of publisher Deep Silver – is expecting those sales to accelerate next year when the game launches for another platform.

It’s been confirmed that the superhero MMO DC Universe Online will soon be arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X, bringing the long-running title to current-gen consoles at long last.

With Persona 5 Tactica in November and Persona 3 Reload early next year, there’s plenty for fans of Atlus’ beloved RPG franchise to look forward to, but of course, there have been rumblings of the next mainline game in the instalment being in the works as well. And though previous leaks have claimed that Persona 6 could potentially launch as a PlayStation exclusive the way Persona games have traditionally done in the past, it seems that might not be the case after all.

Nearly three years into the current console lifecycle, cross-gen releases are still a dime a dozen, and while it remains to be seen whether that’ll be changing in the coming months, for now, some of the biggest releases of the year are unwilling to forego the massive install bases of last-gen consoles. And though recent confusion suggested that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would be skipping an Xbox One release (but not a PS4 one), it’s now been confirmed that that won’t be the case after all.

The Cities: Skylines 2 devs have just dropped a fresh round of details on the game's climate and weather systems, and it looks like some of the best features from the previous game's DLC are going to be included here as part of the base experience.

There was quite a bit of chatter online leading up to June of this year. It was speculated that Nintendo might have passed the month up without a Nintendo Direct. That was big news because this was around the time of year when several industry leaders gathered to showcase some of the upcoming projects heading out into the marketplace later on in the year or the upcoming year.
