Starting January 16, all higher-tier PS Plus members can head into their first day of work at the Raccoon City Police Department as the pretty boy rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, only to be pit against hordes of flesh-eating zombies. As a remake of the original 1998 game, it features an additional pathway where you experience the story through the eyes of college student Claire Redfield, looking to reunite with her missing brother, before getting plunged into a conspiracy involving bizarre experiments and sinister corporations. Resident Evil 2 will be available to play on both PS4 and PS5.

The year 2023 gave fans a standout year in sizzling romance. Baldur’s Gate 3 allowed players to fall in love — and then make love — with its sexy and eclectic band of misfits. The Resident Evil 4 remake gave Leon Kennedy a head-to-toe makeover and turned him into a bona fide internet babygirl. Capcom’s and GungHo Online’s card battling game Teppen just got a new expansion. Launched on December 27, “Absolute Zero” continues the game’s ongoing crossover narrative. The card pack introduces Lost Planet and Mega Man Zero characters to a roster that already includes faces from franchises like Resident Evil, Ace Attorney, and Monster Hunter. Teppen’s new cards include “Leon S. Kennedy,” “Cyber-Elf Ada,” “Luka” and “Revived Tyrant Copy X MK. II.”

Resident Evil 4, the acclaimed 2023 remake of the survival horror classic from 2005, is now available on the iPhone 15 Pro and select iPad and Mac models. The game released on compatible Apple devices on Wednesday. While RE4 is listed for free on Apple's App Store, accessing the full title would require in-app purchases. RE4 remake originally release for PC and consoles on March 24 and received critical acclaim for the visual and mechanical improvements it brought to 2005's Resident Evil 4. The remake also earned three nominations at this year's The Game Awards, including the top prize for Game of the Year.

Today, Capcom has officially announced the release date for the upcoming VR mode coming to the remake of Resident Evil 4. Releasing earlier this year, the remake starring Leon S. Kennedy was held in high regards across the gaming world. Now, those with a PlayStation VR2 will have the opportunity to step in the literal shoes of Leon Kennedy to experience the horror first hand, and its sooner rather than later. So much sooner that it will be available as free DLC on December 8. This is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version of the game as the PC version will not have the option for VR, much in the line of Resident Evil 7 and Village (although an upgrade for RE7 would be nice).

The Leon Kennedy Nendoroid was revealed earlier this year, and now pre-orders have opened for the figure, which is set to release in June 2024.

PlayStation launched its annual Black Friday Sale, late last week, offering discounts of up to 70 percent on key titles on the PS4 and PS5. Separate Ways was the most important of the bunch, and six months after the PS5, PS4 remake's release, it's back as DLC for Capcom's newest masterpiece. 18 years later, it has the same effect: Separate Ways meaningfully expands the Resident Evil 4 story and provides a tantalising reason to return to one of the best games ever.

Multiple sequences, like the ridiculous Robo-Salazar battle, were reimagined, while other moments were cut altogether. Having made a flurry of announcements during last night's State of Play livestream, Capcom has provided a deep dive into all the upcoming Resident Evil 4 content on the PlayStation Blog. The Ada Wong-focused DLC Separate Ways is the headliner, which brings back the optional campaign from the original game for $9.99. A free update for the Mercenaries mode arrives on the same day of 21st September 2023, and then the PSVR2 mode is still slated to launch this winter. Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the best games of 2023 so far, but now fans have created another take on the survival horror classic. This time, Resident Evil 4 is now a 2D run-and-gun shooter.

When it comes to fan love of games, gamers will show their appreciation and respect for specific titles in numerous ways. A great example can be found in the recent Resident Evil 4 Remake. The remake was the true successor to the original Nintendo Gamecube title that took the world by storm. It featured the return of Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to save the President’s daughter. What would follow as an insane venture through a Spanish town and the “residents” that made it hard for the two to escape. It’s widely considered one of the greatest games ever made.

Resident Evil fans rejoice as we have something new to share. Don’t get too excited. It’s not a new video game or the expansion DLC we’re waiting on with Resident Evil 4.
