Mortal Kombat 1 fans have been trying to guess what Omni-Man's gear would be ever since he was revealed, and it turns out that, strangely, it's three different items all at once.
When Mortal Kombat 1 revealed that its first Kombat Pack would comprise of characters like Homelander, Peacemaker, and Omni-Man, it raised some eyebrows about how they'd work in-game. One of the biggest questions that fans have had about each character's inclusion is what their customisable gear would be like, with fans guessing that Homelander's would be his cape and that Peacemaker's would likely be his helmet.
Now that Omni-Man is live in Mortal Kombat 1, we can start looking forward to the rest of the characters in the pack, who NetherRealm Studios actually gave us some release windows for. Next up is Quan-Chi, who is launching this Winter.
The hardest out of the three guest characters' gear to guess was Omni-Man's, with some thinking that it'd be his facial hair, and others assuming that it might be the symbol on his chest. Well, Omni-Man has finally launched in early access today, revealing to players that his gear situation is a whole lot weirder than any of us would have guessed.
As it turns out, Omni-Man's gear is actually three different items all in one go. His gear change affects his cape, his boots, and his gloves, which all get different wraps applied to them. You seemingly can't change them individually, so you're either changing all three of those parts of his costume or none at all.
There is one very cool piece of gear that has already been discovered, however. As pointed out by Twitter user thethiny, one of Omni-Man's unlockable bits of gear has a colour pattern that is a clear reference to his son's costume. That should appease those who were hoping to see Mark make an appearance as some kind of a Kameo fighter.
Omni-Man only just got released, so not many of his gear pieces have been discovered just yet, but beyond the Invincible one, it looks like they just add trinkets and different patterns to his clothes. It's very reminiscent of some of the gear pieces that you could get for Superman in Injustice 2, which I guess makes some sense.
Sadly, anyone who was hoping that the symbol on Omni-Man's chest might change or that we could give him a full beard instead of just the moustache is going to have to settle for just being able to change his boots, cape, and gloves. Then again, if you were hoping that you could change his iconic moustache, you didn't deserve him in the first place.
