Mortal Kombat 1 fans might be having a lot of fun with Omni-Man since his launch yesterday, but they're already unimpressed with the lack of content that he brings, with no skins and fewer Brutalities than the rest of the roster.
After months of teasing, Mortal Kombat 1's first Kombat Pack post-launch character has arrived in the form of everyone's favourite Viltrumite conqueror - Omni-Man. Invincible's dad has hit the game just as it goes into its second season of content, but it seems that none of that content has gone towards Nolan himself.
Not only does Omni-Man have less content than every other character on the roster, but his addition to the game also doesn't come with DLC skins like new characters used to in Mortal Kombat 11.
Over on the Mortal Kombat subreddit, Redditor Yomi_Themadfox pointed out that Omni-Man has significantly less earnable content than the rest of the characters in the game. For starters, he only has 20 levels in his progression track, 15 less than the 35 that most playable fighters have.
That smaller rewards track also means that Omni-Man has less earnable gear than anyone else and doesn't have any alternate skins at the moment, with the only significant change to his outfit coming from the various colour palettes he's got. Even then, he's got less of those than he should, even if the Invincible one is awesome.
Add to that the fact that Omni-Man doesn't have any colour swaps or outfits to go along with the new season's blood theme, and it does feel like he's missing a fair amount of content. It's not clear if that's just because he's a licensed character and there's less freedom to mix him up like there is for the other fighters, or if it's just a lack of content, but it is a shame.
Things are a little slimmer on the gameplay side of things, too. Although Omni-Man has two Fatalities just like the rest, he only has four Brutalities at the moment, one less than what we've come to expect. Again, it's not clear why he's got less content than everyone else considering the guest characters in Mortal Kombat 11 had a ton more to work with, but it's noticeable.
Even though it's a shame that Omni-Man has launched with a lot less to see and do than most other characters in Mortal Kombat 1, it is worth noting that Nolan is currently considered an "early access" character. It initially seemed like that just meant players could get ahold of him earlier if they paid for the Kombat Pack, but it could indicate that more content is on the way in the future.

Mortal Kombat 1 just added JK Simmons' Omni-Man to the game so players are turning him into J. Jonah Jameson from Spider-Man and making Yuri Lowenthal's Smoke look like Spider-Man while making the two duke it out.
These players don't want to pay for skins that could previously be earned through gameplay.
Mortal Kombat 1 fans are extremely disappointed with the game's monetization, that much is undeniable. After getting angry at paid seasonal fatalities, overpriced highly-requested skins, and the premium store's rotation system, fans have now turned their anger towards the voice announcer pack for Omni-Man, with many just realizing the item is a separate purchase and isn't included for those that purchased the first Kombat Pack.
Mortal Kombat has been such a massive franchise over the years, and it’s also known for featuring several different crossovers. Plenty of IPs get represented in the game, and it’s never known what character might pop up next. When NetherRealm Studios unveiled Mortal Kombat 1 , fans were likely speculating which guest characters could show up in this installment. Today, we’re finding out that the co-creator of Mortal Kombat , Ed Boon, was at one time an attempt to get a crossover with The Walking Dead .
One of Mortal Kombat 1’s big draws is Invasions mode, a seasonal activity where players can battle remixed kombatants and powerful bosses to unlock a bunch of in-game goodies. Your opponents in MK1’s Invasions have all kinds of special powers, and some of them can feel downright unfair. Developer NetherRealm Studios tries to balance Invasions’ challenge by giving players some superpowers of their own. One of the most deadly, but certainly not silent, is an ability called Windbreaker that lets fighters pass a toxic green gas.
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Mortal Kombat 1's monetized Fatalities, Warner Bros. Games has confirmed the price and release date for its Seasonal Fatality Bundle, which will feature unique Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities.
NetherRealm Studios recently dropped the official trailer for Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions Season 2, titled Season of the Blood Moon.
The microtransactions of Mortal Kombat 1 have once again been thrust into the spotlight.
Mortal Kombat has changed a lot over the years, but it's most obvious when you look at the women in the series. In recent years, their costumes have started to cover up more skin, particularly if fighting in a bikini was never really in keeping with their personality in the first place. However, this makes things a little awkward when a modern game wants to pay homage to the classics.
WB Games titles are no strangers to controversy surrounding monetization methods, and sure enough, Mortal Kombat 1 has attracted some of that as well, having drawn criticism from the community for its lack of alternate skins in DLC, and its recent Halloween-themed $10 Premium Fatality, among other things.
Warner Bros. has attempted to placate angry Mortal Kombat 1 players with two 'free' Fatalities following an outcry caused by the decision to introduce a $10 USD Fatality animation to the game's already heavily criticised premium store.
