Invincible's titular hero might not be playable in Mortal Kombat 1, but his dad at least has the option to cosplay as him thanks to an unlockable colour scheme that resembles Mark's iconic first outfit.
Just when it looked like most of the Mortal Kombat community was up and ready to abandon MK1 for its "predatory" Premium Store and range of missing features like crossplay, in came Omni-Man to turn things around in superhero style. Everyone's favourite tyrannical Viltrumite just launched in early access for Mortal Kombat 1 a few days ago, and it seems that players are having a blast with him so far.
Although Omni-Man's debut in Mortal Kombat 1 has mostly been met with a positive response, some players have expressed disappointment in how much unlockable content he's lacking right now.
Beyond just being a fun new character to play that thankfully is nothing like Injustice's portrayal of Superman, one of the best things about Omni-Man is all of the nods and references to Invincible that he brings to the table. Not only do characters like Mark, Debbie, Damien Darkblood, and Immortal all get referenced through pre-match interactions, but Omni-Man can even dress himself up to look like his son. Before he smashed his face in, of course.
This was first discovered by Mortal Kombat 1 insider thethiny, who shared an image of Omni-Man's various colour schemes just as he went live in the game. Players then quickly discovered that the Invincible colour scheme comes right at the end of Omni-Man's mastery, which means you'll need to get to level 20 as Omni-Man if you want him to don his son's look.
Anyone who has tried to reach max level with any character in Mortal Kombat 1 will know that this is no easy feat and will likely take a few runs of Invasions in order to pull off. While you wait to upgrade Omni-Man to level 20, though, you might notice that another one of his colour schemes is a reference to Invincible, as his pink colour scheme seems to be a homage to Atom Eve's costume.
Funnily enough, Mark's colour scheme isn't the only way that Invincible appears in Mortal Kombat 1. Omni-Man's tower ending has him taking over the world of Mortal Kombat in order to appease the Viltrumites, which he says is just to buy him some time after failing to conquer Earth. Omni-Man will then say that he hopes his son is ready when the Viltrumites remember his failure, before showing a scene of him fighting Mark in a city that's reminiscent of their fight in the comic.

Mortal Kombat 1 fans are extremely disappointed with the game's monetization, that much is undeniable. One of Mortal Kombat 1’s big draws is Invasions mode, a seasonal activity where players can battle remixed kombatants and powerful bosses to unlock a bunch of in-game goodies. Your opponents in MK1’s Invasions have all kinds of special powers, and some of them can feel downright unfair. Developer NetherRealm Studios tries to balance Invasions’ challenge by giving players some superpowers of their own. One of the most deadly, but certainly not silent, is an ability called Windbreaker that lets fighters pass a toxic green gas.
Omni-Man has four Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 1 - The Thinker, where he pummels enemies with his fist until their skull shatters; Behind You!, where he spins their head around; Coming Through, where he dashes through them and they explode into a miasma of guts and gore; You Got Boned!, in which he grabs them by the foot and smashes them against the ground until their head explodes, and The Klassic, a decapitating uppercut.
