November 2 will be a sad day for those who have yet to upgrade from the Meta Quest 1 headset, as that's the day that Beat Saber will be ending support for the device. The original Meta Quest headset, once known as the Oculus Quest, was a big hit when it was released in 2019. Wireless virtual reality was a huge innovation at the time and did a solid job of increasing interest in the VR space.
The headset, now known as the Meta Quest 1, features a variety of popular virtual reality games in its library. One of the most popular Meta Quest 1 games, and indeed one of the most popular VR games of all time, is the music/rhythm game Beat Saber. Essentially combining Guitar Hero-style music/rhythm gameplay with lightsabers, Beat Saber was a viral hit and remains popular to this day.
Beat Saber continues to release new content, but those enjoying the game on Meta Quest 1 will be left out later this year. It's been confirmed that Beat Saber is wrapping up support for Meta Quest 1 headsets on November 2, which means its multiplayer modes and other online features are being shut down. After November 2, Beat Saber on Meta Quest 1 will no longer receive updates, which means no new DLC songs. So, while Beat Saber will technically remain playable on Meta Quest 1 headsets, it will be losing functionality and will no longer receive new content or updates.
For those still using the original Meta Quest 1/Oculus headset, this will no doubt be sad news. On the bright side, those that purchased Beat Saber on the Meta Quest 1 can play it on the Meta Quest 2 and 3 headsets without having to buy it or its DLC all over again. Of course, this will require buying a brand-new VR headset, which is an expensive proposition, but newer games have been skipping the Quest 1 for years now anyway.
Some of the best modern VR games are not playable on the Meta Quest 1 headset. The most notable example is probably Asgard's Wrath 2, which is one of the highest-rated virtual reality games of all time. Asgard's Wrath 2 is playable on Quest 2 and Quest 3, but skipped Quest 1. And soon, a game will be released that's only playable on Quest 3 and will be skipping Quest 2 entirely.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is a Quest 3 exclusive, so the Quest 2 is already getting to the point where it's being phased out. The constant new hardware releases have proven overwhelming for some VR enthusiasts, but games should improve as the technology advances, and leaving older hardware behind can help developers improve their experiences without being held back.

A reputable report has confirmed that gameplay of Assassin's Creed Red will officially debut at the 2024 Ubisoft Forward. The upcoming mainline Assassin's Creed title is set to be released in fiscal year 2025, which extends from April 2024 to March 2025, so an official introduction at Ubisoft's large-scale summer event seems likely.
Redfall will receive no further updates, as Microsoft “ends all development” on the game.
One of the best ways to keep hackers away from your digital accounts is to enable the two-step verification process. This process is being highlighted by several cybersecurity experts to keep social media, Google accounts, and other accounts safe and secure. In light of security measures, Google has introduced an improved version of its 2FA setup verification process which is more secure. Now, the SMS verification code will no longer require a phone number and the verification could be done directly from the authenticator app or a special security key. Know more about how Google's updated two-step verification process works.

Sony will add a new feature to PS5 later this year, allowing users to invite others to a multiplayer game by generating a shareable link on the console or via the PlayStation App. This link can then be shared on social media or via direct message, allowing AFK, offline, or even players you aren't friends with (yet) to secure a spot.
Collectors rejoice, completing a quest in The War Within now awards all appearance rewards, regardless of weapon or armor type! Earn plate cosmetics on your Monk or leather on your Priest, just from finishing the same quest. What's more, there's also a new dropdown menu that allows players to swap between classes in the appearance tab — helping players see what transmog they might/not have without changing characters! Note this is sorted by class rather than armor type, so exclusive cosmetics like the elusive Kor'kron Dark Shaman Armor won't show for Hunter.
