The latest Mortal Kombat 1 update adds Mavado to the roster of Kameo fighters and fixes several issues with the game experience and the moves of some fighters. Mavado joins Mortal Kombat 1 shortly after Ermac. Both fighters are available to players who own Kombat Pack 1 or the game's Premium Edition, but it's also possible to purchase them separately.
As done in previous Mortal Kombat games, NetherRealm introduced a DLC pack to Mortal Kombat 1 that adds new fighters to the roster. The first pack, called Kombat Pack 1, has already announced most of the new fighters for Mortal Kombat 1 and their release date. In total, 11 new characters will join the Mortal Kombat 1 arena, six of them to the main roster and five to the Kameo fighters list. Kameos are fighters with their own moveset, fatalities, and brutalities that support the main fighter but cannot be chosen as the protagonist of a fight.
The latest Mortal Kombat 1 update adds Mavado to the Kameo fighters roster. Mavado was introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and is one of the leaders of the Red Dragon clan, a crime syndicate in Earthrealm led by Daegon. As a Kameo fighter, Mavado uses grappling hooks as weapons, and they power up all his moves. Mavado was featured in Ermac's trailer, battling alongside the red ninja.
In addition to adding Mavado, the update also fixes numerous issues in Mortal Kombat 1. The fixes varied depending on the platform. PC players on Steam and the Epic Games Store received fixes to boot the game properly if they used third-party software and stability fixes in Invasion mode. Nintendo Switch players can expect some visual adjustments, such as one that hid Kung Lao's hat in some cinematics. Some characters, like Sub Zero, received corrections. The ninja had a bug when using Ice Slide, but not anymore. Kameo fighter Sonya Blade got a nerf to her Energy Rings ability, which now has a slightly longer cooldown.
Mavado is the fourth of the five Kameo fighters from Kombat Pack 1 to be added to the game. Ferra, the fifth and final Kameo fighter from the pack, is expected to arrive in Mortal Kombat 1 alongside Homelander. After Homelander lands in Mortal Kombat 1, only Takeda Takahashi will be left in the first pack. With that, fans are already speculating about the fighters of Kombat Pack 2, which is expected to include iconic fighters from previous titles in the series and new guest characters from other franchises.
