The game has been sitting in a pre-production readiness state since October 2023, but Remedy has assured investors and fans that the project will be moving into full production by Q2 2024. Control 2 is still undergoing testing and adjustments for proof-of-concept, with the environment, mechanics, and graphics requiring final touches. Similar to Max Payne, Control 2 will enter its next development phase in Q2 2024. Remedy is currently also working on Codename Kestral, another multiplayer title, and DLC expansions for Alan Wake 2.
