A new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer is here, giving us our first look at Omni-Man in action. From gameplay to new voice lines, the trailer shows us what will be added when the first DLC pack launches - including two new and incredibly over-the-top fatalities.
The Invincible antagonist joins fellow guest fighters Homelander and Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1's first DLC pack. The not-so-heroic trio will launch alongside returning Mortal Kombat characters Ermac, Takeda, and Quan Chi in November.

To absolutely no surprise, Omni-Man's fatalities are absolutely brutal, even by Mortal Kombat standards. Whether it's holding his opponent out to get hit by a moving train or crushing their skull with his bare hands, he's full of creative ways to take someone out, fitting right at home with the Mortal Kombat cast.
The reception from fans is incredibly positive so far, with many pointing out the Invincible references in his moveset. The only concern noted is that some feel the combo game was a little weak in the trailer, but that may be just so it can focus on showing us the individual attacks, rather than spamming them all at once.
The best bit of the trailer has to be the confirmation that yes, J.K. Simmons is still voicing Omni-Man. NetherRealm had already made it clear that it didn't have to get a new actor for the game, but there's no room for doubt now - that's definitely J.K. Simmons' voice. We even get some new voice lines for the base cast, since they'll have to respond to his jabs in the pre-fight banter.
Fingers crossed, this cameo from a Hollywood actor goes down a little better than the last one. Mortal Kombat fans were incredibly disappointed by Megan Fox's performance as Kitara, with some even feeling that it was worse than Ronda Rousey's turn as Sonya Blade. Although, as other players were discussing recently, Rousey's performance was exceptionally wooden, so maybe that really is the worst Mortal Kombat acting out here. Excluding the films, of course - almost everyone in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation would win gold there.
In any case, we'll get our hands on Omni-Man's Mortal Kombat debut next month, although the specific release date is yet to be revealed. This trailer says he'll be added to the game in November, but will be available even sooner to anyone who either picked up the premium edition of Mortal Kombat 1 or has already pre-ordered the DLC pack. If that sounds confusing, then you're not alone - Mortal Kombat 1's monetisation is pretty far from popular right now.
