In , players are able to equip certain abilities and swap them out on both Miles and Peter. While some of these can be further upgraded with various skills, they are quite powerful on their own and only get better and better. Players must choose between two abilities for each slot once they have all of them unlocked, and four total abilities can be active and equipped at the same time, although they can also be swapped at will.
There are eight possible abilities that Miles can equip, and most of them are unlocked through the main story and some are found in Miles’ Skill tree. Miles has four abilities that are based on his own Venom powers, and four abilities that focus more on lightning and shock damage. There are a lot of situations where the enemies are far away in this game, and this ability makes that easier to handle.
While this ability carries over from the previous game, Venom Smash is a great ability for Miles to have, it works really well for doing a lot of damage when you are surrounded. While its counterpart, Reverse Flux, is able to pull enemies in to get more in the damage radius, Venom Smash also applies the Venom stun and can release a whole host of other abilities due to the possible Venom synergy. Both are very valuable to have, but Venom Smash is a bit more versatile.
Sometimes simplicity and an old favorite work really well, and in this case Miles can carry his Venom Punch from the beginning of the game to the end if he wants to. Chain Lightning is quite effective, but Venom Punch is handier in one-on-one and smaller fights and can activate all of those
