This past week, Blizzard revealed another round of Hero Talent Trees in a Sneak Peek at the upcoming War Within system. Our Marksmanship Hunter guide writer, TheAzortharion, offers an early review of the Dark Ranger Hunter Hero Talents that offers more Aimed Shots but lacks the additional support to fire them.
Hero Talents are an extension of the Talent system designed to explore class fantasy with a third talent tree, separate from your class and specialization. Blizzard has revealed an early preview of Hero Talents coming in the next expansion, The War Within.

Dark Ranger for Marksmanship Hunter
Welcome to my little overview of the newly announced Dark Ranger Hero Talents from a Marksmanship Hunter perspective. This Hero Talent specialization is available to Marksmanship and Beast Mastery Hunters.
What Is Dark Ranger?
The Dark Ranger Hero Talents are focused around a new version of Black Arrow, a 30-second cooldown that applies a 16-second DoT, ticking for moderate Shadow damage every 2 seconds. Each tick has a chance to reset the cooldown of Aimed Shot, Marksmanship's bread-and-butter damaging ability. The rest of the Hero Talent Tree focuses on various ways of dealing more Shadow damage, amplifying Black Arrow, and some especially exciting defensive and utility benefits. As we will see, the Dark Ranger Tree has a strong defensive node that might go a long way to combat Hunter's squishy reputation.

To respect your time, I will only touch on Talents that have some impact beyond flat damage. Tuning is always a moving target, and I believe Blizzard wants us to assume that tuning will set things right in the end. Thus, I will focus on gameplay impact, whether direct or indirect.
Death Shade
When you apply Black Arrow to a target, you gain the Deathblow effect.
This means that you get a Kill Shot to use on your target, regardless of health, after applying Black Arrow. Kill Shot is pretty strong for Marksmanship, and we will want to take advantage of this every time it happens. Thus, Black Arrow will nearly always be
