From out of nowhere, EA has shadow-dropped a whole bunch of games from its back catalogue on Steam. These include PC gaming favourites with entries from the Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and Sim City series, as well as a Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection which slams together a whopping 17 titles from the beloved franchise.

EA has released a number of its older games onto Steam for the first time, and at a discounted price.

A wave of EA Classics has joined the most popular PC digital store, Steam, for the first time ever.

If you wanted to buy any of the games in the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection, Dungeon Keeper, or Sim City 3000 - but didn't want to do it on GOG where they were already on sale - then rejoice! EA has made these classics and more, and for some reason The Saboteur, available on Steam for the first time. You can see the full list of games here. I don't have anything specific against The Saboteur, but I do think it's very funny that the list goes, like, "beloved game from the 90s, beloved game from the 90s, 7/10 action game from 2009, beloved game from the 90s". Also, I can take the opportunity to make fun of Graham and James, the tallest wrongest boys at RPS, who apparently both liked it.

EA hasn’t always made it easy for gamers who want to dip into its catalog of PC classics, but that’s changing. The company has quietly brought its most popular legacy titles to Steam, some of which were previously exclusive to the EA app, its EA Play subscription, or through GOG.com.

That changed today as EA brought many of its classic PC games and expansions to Valve’s PC gaming platform today.

Two things became very evident during my short time with Cities: Skylines 2 . One, I am still horrible at creating cities. And 2, although many new features and upgrades are packed into Cities: Skylines 2 , many hardcore fans of the original Skylines may not be ready to give up all of the DLC and community mods that have arguably made it the best city builder available today.

Natural disasters are coming to Cities: Skylines 2, developers Paradox have confirmed. Natural disasters, familiar to Sim City fans and those of us watching the real-life climate crisis roll out around us, was previously only available in Cities Skylines if you bought a DLC. 

Paradox Interactive’s The Sims rival, Life By You, has been delayed all the way until 5th March 2024, the company has announced, with this added time hoping to make the game a more rounded and refined experience at the very first point at which players can go hands on.
