@Splat Nice work on the platinum, that can't have been easy. I didn't get anywhere close to it.

If you’re after one of the most powerful items in the game, which can bring a bunch of NPCs back to life at once, you’ll want to know how to get the Eternal Wakestone in Dragon’s Dogma 2, for sure.
As per its in-game item description, the Eternal Wakestone is: «A stone ensorceled with tremendous magick. When invoked, it restores any fallen in the vicinity of the holder to life.»
If you’ve been unlucky enough to be stricken by the Dragonsplague and have many dead NPCs filling up the Morgue or Charnel House of one of the game’s larger settlements, you will want to save the Eternal Wakestone.
Use it to bring all of the dead NPCs in a settlement back to life.
Unfortunately, even though its name suggests otherwise, the Eternal Wakestone is a one-time-use only item. Use it wisely.
Getting hold of the impressive item will prove tricky, and involves completing a lengthy quest to take down a powerful enemy.
It’s worth it, though, as you’ll unlock a trophy/achievement for your troubles, as well as the item itself.
Read on, Arisen, to find out how to get the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Eternal Wakestone.
To get the Eternal Wakestone in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to complete the A Game of Wits side quest.
At the end of the quest, you will need to defeat the mighty Sphinx to pick up the Key of Sagacity. You’ll find the Eternal Wakestone in the massive treasure chest behind the Sphinx.
You’ll have to initiate the fight with the Sphinx yourself at the end of its riddle-filled quest line.

Complete all its riddles and unlock all the items at each stage of the side quest and your fight with the Sphinx becomes a whole lot easier.
Use the Unmaking Arrow you unlock in the Sphinx’s 10th riddle and shoot one of its wings with it to defeat it in one shot.
There are a lot of stages to get through to reach this point, with the quest beginning at the Mountain Shrine in north-west Vermund.
It’s all a little complicated, but fortunately for you, we’ve got an in-depth guide on how to complete the A Game of Wits side quest. Read through that and you’ll have the Eternal Wakestone unlocked in no time.

It has been claimed that you can create working forgeries of the Eternal Wakestone. As this Reddit thread explains, you can get Ibrahim to forge them at his scrap store in Checkpoint Rest Town.

Off The Pilfered Path is one of the more complicated quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Like most quests, the game really doesn’t explain what you need to do — and you can fail this quest spectacularly if you’re not playing carefully. This quest is only unlocked after completing a different quest to clear out the Coral Snakes Camp on the road to Bakbattahl. In that quest, you’ll meet the character Hugo who’s captured at the end and locked in jail. While exploring Bakbattahl, you’ll be contacted to try and locate the hidden location of the Coral Snakes boss — and the rest of the quest gets complicated. Getting Hugo to talk is a real challenge that requires patience. Here’s what you need to do. And even if you do something wrong, it is possible to complete this quest anyway.
Griffins in are rare, formidable enemies that can provide plentiful experience points when killed. They can be found regularly in a few spots throughout the map, but they may also swoop down on the player while riding an ox cart. Players must use their most potent arsenal to kill the griffin before it can flee—unless players ride back to their nests, too.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the strangest games of 2024 — this open-world RPG is packed with weird features that make it extremely hostile to players, throwing you straight into a dangerous fantasy land and barely explaining some of its core features. There are so many strange details in this game and we want to talk about them all. Here’s everything crazy we’ve discovered so far that you didn’t know you could do — and we didn’t know either until we played the game way too much.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is about the journey, not the destination. It’s about exploring routes you’ve never taken before, camping in the wilderness, and having an unexpected run in with a Minotaur. Quests objectives are also left intentionally vague, forcing you to puzzle things out and speak to as many people as you can. If you could just easily fast travel to obvious quest markers you could certainly check them off your list more efficiently, but then you’d miss out entirely on the adventure of getting there.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 has some aggravating quests, but none of them are as stressful as ‘Spellbound‘ and ‘The Sorcerer’s Appraisal‘ — two quests that make you track down books that are some of the rarest items in the game. These books look like any other spell tome at first glance, but they’re far more valuable and most only have a single copy. You’ll have to search every corner of the map to get six of these Grimoires, much less all ten. If you’re struggling to find the last Grimoires available, or if you just need a few more and want help, we’ve got locations for all of them.
Based on credit listings at videogame documentation site MobyGames, action RPG Dragon's Dogma 2 may have had around a quarter of the headcount compared to other AAA Capcom releases in recent years.
Dragon's Dogma 2 has plenty of obstacles to overcome, but one major nuisance causing players a lot of headaches is Dragonsplague, a disease that can cause a Pawn to turn into a massive dragon and kill everything in a 10-mile radius if not treated properly. Players have come up with various methods of keeping Dragonsplague at bay, including throwing their Pawns in the nearest body of water, but now the modders have got involved.
One veteran Bethesda designer really, really likes Dragon's Dogma 2 - in fact, he says that it's the only way that he can get the same feeling his RPGs give to everyone else.
@ApostateMage haha these moments are the best. This is the location I had wandered off to while getting side tracked from everything else. I went in a sorcerer (I think) and came back as a Magick Archer, then switched to thief at Bakbhattal after i'd levelled up to about MA lv5.
@Splat You aren’t really. The game is designed to be played multiple times so if you can’t stumble upon it, theoretically that is what NG+ is for.
