Off The Pilfered Path is one of the more complicated quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Like most quests, the game really doesn’t explain what you need to do — and you can fail this quest spectacularly if you’re not playing carefully. This quest is only unlocked after completing a different quest to clear out the Coral Snakes Camp on the road to Bakbattahl. In that quest, you’ll meet the character Hugo who’s captured at the end and locked in jail. While exploring Bakbattahl, you’ll be contacted to try and locate the hidden location of the Coral Snakes boss — and the rest of the quest gets complicated. Getting Hugo to talk is a real challenge that requires patience. Here’s what you need to do. And even if you do something wrong, it is possible to complete this quest anyway.

Griffins in are rare, formidable enemies that can provide plentiful experience points when killed. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is about the journey, not the destination. It’s about exploring routes you’ve never taken before, camping in the wilderness, and having an unexpected run in with a Minotaur. Quests objectives are also left intentionally vague, forcing you to puzzle things out and speak to as many people as you can. If you could just easily fast travel to obvious quest markers you could certainly check them off your list more efficiently, but then you’d miss out entirely on the adventure of getting there.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has some aggravating quests, but none of them are as stressful as ‘Spellbound‘ and ‘The Sorcerer’s Appraisal‘ — two quests that make you track down books that are some of the rarest items in the game. These books look like any other spell tome at first glance, but they’re far more valuable and most only have a single copy. You’ll have to search every corner of the map to get six of these Grimoires, much less all ten. Dragon's Dogma 2 has plenty of obstacles to overcome, but one major nuisance causing players a lot of headaches is Dragonsplague, a disease that can cause a Pawn to turn into a massive dragon and kill everything in a 10-mile radius if not treated properly. Players have come up with various methods of keeping Dragonsplague at bay, including throwing their Pawns in the nearest body of water, but now the modders have got involved.

One veteran Bethesda designer really, really likes Dragon's Dogma 2 - in fact, he says that it's the only way that he can get the same feeling his RPGs give to everyone else.

@ApostateMage haha these moments are the best. This is the location I had wandered off to while getting side tracked from everything else. I went in a sorcerer (I think) and came back as a Magick Archer, then switched to thief at Bakbhattal after i'd levelled up to about MA lv5.

@Splat You aren’t really. The game is designed to be played multiple times so if you can’t stumble upon it, theoretically that is what NG+ is for.
