Whether you're a Fortnite player or not, you've surely heard of its LEGO mode that dropped on 7th December.
Taking the game back to its survival roots, the mode takes a leaf out of Minecraft's book and gives us an addictive blocky craft-a-thon.
It's a new game and there's a lot to get to grips with, so fear not if you're feeling a bit lost. It's very different to Fortnite's popular battle royale mode, after all.
The map is huge, and it isn't easy to find all the resources you need. For example, if you want to make Knotroot Wood or Marble, you'll need to do some mining in a cave.
But where are the caves in LEGO Fortnite?
As we've said, caves are an absolutely essential location for mining in LEGO Fortnite. It's in caves that you'll find Marble, which you'll need not only to build tools but to upgrade your village. And the same can be said of Knotroot Wood.
As both of these are in caves, you'll agree that these locations are ripe spots for mining. But where are they?
Well, you might know by now that your LEGO Fortnite map is split into different biomes — each biome is populated with its own unique resources. For example, the desert biome is where you go to find Amber.
But you won't find the caves there. To find a cave, head to either the Frostlands, Grasslands or Dry Valley biomes. It might take a bit of searching, but a cave is guaranteed to be in at least one of those. Good luck!

The grind is on as Lego Fortnite rolls into view and throws a back of assorted bricks at your feet. Combining the colourful world of Fortnite with the boundless creativity of Lego is a work of genius, and even in its most basic form, is a lot of fun. If you want a new crafting/survival game, then this isn’t a bad place to start.
Lego Fortnite is exactly what the name implies – it’s the wonderfully buildable (and aesthetically pleasing) world of Lego in all of its bricky glory, combined with Fortnite. Only, it’s not really combined with Fortnite, it’s just within Fortnite and uses its established STUFF to make a pretty swanky survival/crafting/building experience.
LEGO Fortnite offers many creative ways to survive the night and ensure your village is safe, and Charms will be extremely vital for your journey in the game. However, it’s worth running over how and if you can upgrade these within the game to make them even better!
Head to Lego Fortnite 's desert biome if you need Sand Claws, Sand Shells, or spicy peppers. You'll find cacti as well, which can give you Flexwood when chopped down. There are geysers that'll let you use your glider, and the desert caves are home to rare resources like Obsidian.
If you're playing LEGO Fortnite, one of the most crucial items you need early on is the Knotroot Wood, but where can you find it?
Frostpine is one of the late-game resources you’ll need to track down while playing LEGO Fortnite. You’ll need to track it down to finish many of your final crafting projects, and it will only appear in a specific region of your world.
Iron is one of the more difficult resources for you to find while playing LEGO Fortnite. You’ll spend a good amount of time trying to track it down, but it should be in a reasonably reliable place, giving you the chance to unlock Iron Bars.
You will find several creatures while exploring LEGO Fortnite, and these enemies have the chance to drop helpful resources that you can use back at your village. The Blaster is one of these monsters that you can find, and it has a good chance to drop Blast Cores from it.
Animals are an essential resource that will just keep giving if players know what they are doing in LEGO Fortnite. But in order to utilize them to the fullest, players need to capture them and keep them safe.
You can find multiple resources while exploring LEGO Fortnite, and Heavy Wool is one of the rare options that you can find while you’re out in the world. There’s a specific way you can get it, and it’s an incredibly rare drop.
