Helldivers 2 Players Are Preparing To Take Back "Robot Vietnam"

Last month, Helldivers 2 players were mourning the loss of Malevelon Creek, a planet so hotly contested between the people fighting for Super Earth and the Automaton threat that it was officially dubbed "Robot Vietnam" by the community. It was a very long and tough fight that eventually ended in defeat, but a small group of players has been plugging away ever since, determined not to let the planet be completely overrun.
It's one of these players who now seems to have inspired a large portion of the game's community, as Helldivers 2 players are now planning to hold a full-scale assault on Malevelon Creek as a last-ditch effort to retake the planet (thanks GamesRadar). Reddit user Arruti recently pleaded with other fans of the game's subreddit to join the assault which is taking place on March 1, and their post getting over 6.5k upvotes suggest they have a lot of support.
It's not all that surprising that players are still fighting for Malevelon Creek instead of fighting on a different front, as it's firmly established itself as a fan-favorite battlefield. The love for the place is so great that you even have players making full-blown trailers for hypothetical movies about what went down there. Unfortunately, not everyone is in love with the Creek though, and some are worried this new push will divert precious soldiers away from other fronts.
For real... the automatons are gonna waltz right on up to Cyberstan unimpeded because of y'all misguided creekers...
You'll find plenty of other players in the replies to Arruti's call to action calling Malevelon Creek a lost cause and for people to fight elsewhere. After noticing that the Automatons seem to be making their way to Cyberstan, the home world of the Cyborgs, players have been doing their best to stop them, with planets like Utotsu and Draupnir key to halting their progress.
Due to Helldivers 2's game-wide Galactic War, more players leaving key battlefronts means fewer players to maintain less popular but much more vital planets, and there are a few people that think retaking Malevelon Creek isn't worth the gamble at the moment. There are also a lot of people arguing that Draupnir is arguably more important in the fight to keep Malevelon Creek as well, due to its extremely important supply lines.
Wherever you plan on fighting on March 16, you have to respect the tenacity and determination of Helldivers 2 players to stick it out even against overwhelming odds of failure. Hopefully, this new push will help players establish some ground and the Automaton threat will be vanquished by this time next week.
