Helldivers 2 gets two new weapons – Quasar Cannon & Heavy Machine Gun unlocked

Last week, the Helldivers 2 community was successful in carrying out the mission of completely decimating the Automaton faction, leaving many to wonder where the game would go from here. As many predicted, things are only going to get worse from here.

borrows a lot of things from the first game, but skips out on multiple enemy factions — not just the Illuminate. At launch and up until the time of writing, Helldivers 2 has had two enemy factions: the Terminids (Bugs) and the Automatons (Bots). However, with the recent total success of the Major Order "", it appears the Automatons have finally been eradicated once and for all. Of course, there's always a chance they'll return, but for the time being, players are left to wonder what comes next.

Did you really think Helldivers 2 players had wiped out the Automatons for good? Nope.

There's only good news in the world of Helldivers 2 today following the successful completion of Operation Swift Disassembly, the recent Major Order to crush the Automatons in Arrowhead's popular multiplayer game. Not only is the galaxy free once more, but all Helldivers have received a special gift in the form of a minute-long break inclusive of the time it takes to read the announcement. Congratulations, folks; you earned it.

A number of Helldivers 2 trophies can no longer be unlocked. And while Helldivers 2 is hence currently impossible to platinum, there's reason to believe that players will eventually get another chance to grab these trophies.

Two months after the launch of Helldivers 2, one of its enemy factions, the Automatons, has been wiped out. Arrowhead Game Studios issued a new Major Order, “Swift Disassembly” two weeks ago to destroy the entire faction, and players have seemingly succeeded. This is despite the Automatons deploying new walker-like Factory Striders and gunships.

Helldivers 2 players have seemingly been wasting their Stratagems in an attempt to destroy the new Gunship factories since, as it turns out, their only weakness is Hellbombs.

Helldiver's 2's latest, most relentless campaign continues as «Operation Swift Disassembly» develops. This time, the mission objective is nothing less than the complete eradication of the Automatons for good. And while the war is still far from over, lovers of liberty can sleep soundly tonight, comforted by the joyous news that Malevelon Creek is finally free of the machine menace.

Just when you think the Helldivers 2 Automaton warfront can't get any worse, the bots bring not one, but two new menaces to the battlefield. As flying Gunships shred players from the skies, new machine walkers called Factory Striders are also flattening democracy enthusiasts down on the ground. 

is upping the firepower available to the soldiers of Super Earth, but as exciting as this news may be, it could actually be a cause for concern. Over the course of 's updates, there's been a good bit of debate over how strong weapons should be, with some key nerfs that addressed overpowered weapons causing community backlash from those who fell in love with these advantages. The nail-biting difficulty found on higher levels can make for thrilling gameplay, however, even if it dilutes the sense of a power fantasy.

As the community continues to fight in Super Earth's galactic war, one dedicated play has envisioned a simple yet effective solution to one of the game's persistent problems: Supply lines. While Arrowhead Studios does an excellent job of introducing mechanics and concepts to players, one aspect that isn't clarified when starting up the game is how interplanetary travel works. Fortunately, with such a committed player base, it didn't take long for players to learn about supply lines but despite the discovery, many are still unclear on how they actually work.

That's not to say it's perfect, however — as one unfortunate mechanic may actually result in the game crashing completely. Though is packed with hours of fun content, the game itself can sometimes be buggy, which is not that surprising considering it was just released in February. One unfortunate bug, however, may ruin a squad's fun completely.
