A number of Helldivers 2 trophies can no longer be unlocked. And while Helldivers 2 is hence currently impossible to platinum, there's reason to believe that players will eventually get another chance to grab these trophies.
Both the PC and PS5 versions of Helldivers 2 have 38 achievements in total. Several of them are tied to Automatons, a faction of cyborg-like enemies that many fans found to be challenging to deal with, at least relative to the much more squishy Terminids. The High Command has finally authorized the community to deal with this galactic threat once and for all in March 2024, when a Major Order called Operation Swift Disassembly was issued, tasking the player base with completely eradicating Automatons.
While the mission wasn't always looking like it was going to be a success, the community did eventually manage to complete this Helldivers 2 Major Order come early April. Arrowhead promptly congratulated the fandom for their achievement, proclaiming that «the galaxy is free once more» in an April 7 tweet. But as some players were quick to note while the celebrations were still ongoing (via TheGamer), the triumph came at the cost of making some PS5 trophies and Steam achievements impossible to unlock.
Specifically, the fact that Automatons can no longer be fought means players are now locked out of completing «Let's call it a draw» and two other Helldivers 2 achievements, all of which require engaging with some shape or form of these deadly cyborgs. The most widely unlocked of the newly retired trophies is «Bot Scrapper,» awarded for playing any Bot Mission, which approximately 87.4% of Steam players did by the time Operation Swift Disassembly concluded in early April. Meanwhile, «Nothing is bigger than Freedom» and «Let's call it a draw» have so far been unlocked by 74.4% and 12.2% of PC players, respectively.
Given how the hit co-op shooter has just celebrated its two-month anniversary on April 8, the chances of its platinum trophy already being permanently out of reach appear slim. It is instead much more likely that Arrowhead will eventually reintroduce Automatons to the game, allowing players to resume their achievement hunts. Such a move would also fit Helldivers 2's overall live-service philosophy, which aims to avoid the FOMO (fear of missing out) phenomenon with things like permanent battle passes.
Helldivers 2 is a third-person cooperative shooter developed by Arrowhead Games Studios for the PC and PlayStation 5 where players take control of a Helldiver set to protect the citizens of Super Earth by traveling to hostile alien worlds and destroying threats. Players undergo missions, defeat enemies, and use special items called Stratagems to help turn the tide of battle in this

took the gaming industry by storm back in February 2024, quickly gaining a dedicated fanbase and community around the live-service title. Although it still boasts an impressive player base, a couple of months later, the numbers have begun to dwindle from the initial highs that it once enjoyed. This is to be expected with any title since the gaming industry moves on quickly, and games cannot be expected to hold onto unsustainable numbers, but there is something can do to stem the bleeding.
The soldiers of Super Earth have made major progress in the ongoing Helldivers 2 Galactic War by successfully defending a large number of planets from enemy assault. The feat hasn't been accomplished by the game's community since Helldivers 2 first launched in February 2024.

Somehow, I'd managed to miss the Helldivers 2 Factory Striders the first time around, but it seems that my time living in ignorance has come to an end. A new report claims that the monstrous, bot-spewing machines are back, and in far bigger numbers than ever before.
The last few days have been rough for Helldivers 2 players, to say the least. As the weekend began, we were hit with a new Major Order – halt the Automaton advance and hold the Menkent line, maintaining complete control over Menkent and Lesath in the process. It's just two planets, so simple enough, right?
borrows a lot of things from the first game, but skips out on multiple enemy factions — not just the Illuminate. At launch and up until the time of writing, Helldivers 2 has had two enemy factions: the Terminids (Bugs) and the Automatons (Bots). However, with the recent total success of the Major Order "", it appears the Automatons have finally been eradicated once and for all. Of course, there's always a chance they'll return, but for the time being, players are left to wonder what comes next.
There's only good news in the world of Helldivers 2 today following the successful completion of Operation Swift Disassembly, the recent Major Order to crush the Automatons in Arrowhead's popular multiplayer game. Not only is the galaxy free once more, but all Helldivers have received a special gift in the form of a minute-long break inclusive of the time it takes to read the announcement. Congratulations, folks; you earned it.
Two months after the launch of Helldivers 2, one of its enemy factions, the Automatons, has been wiped out. Arrowhead Game Studios issued a new Major Order, “Swift Disassembly” two weeks ago to destroy the entire faction, and players have seemingly succeeded. This is despite the Automatons deploying new walker-like Factory Striders and gunships.
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Studios has recommended players experiencing continual crashes should «let the game rest for a while» whilst the team looks for a fix.
