Nearly 15 years ago, Rockstar Games announced a brand-new game: Agent, which ultimately never saw the light of day. And according to a former Rockstar employee, the would-be title had to be dumped in favor of Grand Theft Auto V.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is apparently finally getting revealed very soon, but it seems like the game is still more than a year away from release, according to a new report shared online today.
Following the Bloomberg report, which said that the next entry in the series by Rockstar Games might be revealed as early as this week, Rockstar Universe shared a new report detailing everything they and RockstarINTEL know about the game. Last month, Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser allegedly flew to New York last month to get an update on the game and to take part in a meeting with an advertisement agency where a large request for a large number of mural spaces, building ads, poster spaces was submitted. The advertisements were requested to be completed by the end of December.
Next month seems to be the month when the marketing push for Grand Theft Auto 6 will truly begin. According to internal sources, major updates for Grand Theft Auto Online are slowing down to allow the next entry in the series to be in the spotlight. As such, the online game is not getting a major Winter DLC like it did in the past years and will only be getting Event Weeks and Seasonal content in the future.
Another internal source also revealed how Grand Theft Auto 6 may not be released next year, as the game is currently planned for a 2025 release, which sounds disappointing but not entirely unexpected, given past indications that the game would be out by March 2025. The next entry in the series was apparently meant to be a 2024 game but was internally delayed for unknown reasons.
Ourselves and @RockstarINTEL have both had our own independent sources which may back up claims that GTAVI will be announced this week, with a trailer early December. Additionally, to the claims made by @business, this is what we know:

Nearly 15 years ago, Rockstar Games announced a brand-new game: Agent, which ultimately never saw the light of day. And according to a former Rockstar employee, the would-be title had to be dumped in favor of Grand Theft Auto V.
Remember Rockstar’s Agent? Announced in 2007 for the PlayStation 3, it was touted as a stealth action title set during the Cold War. It would receive sporadic updates before the trademark was eventually abandoned and it was removed from the developer’s website. However, new details are available thanks to former Rockstar North technical director Obbe Vermeij, who worked from 1999 to 2009.
The latest trend of leaks and speculation online regarding Rockstar Games is their next Grand Theft Auto installment. This video game franchise has had a massive following over the years, but a new installment has been absent for years. Since 2013, fans have been playing with Grand Theft Auto V while waiting for the studio to drop Grand Theft Auto VI. We know the game is in the works; even a trailer is planned for early December. However, a new leak for Grand Theft Auto V has fans talking about some of the past projects Rockstar Games was apparently working on, such as a Bully sequel.
From The Last of Us and God of War to Mario and The Legend of Zelda (to name just a few), there has been no shortage of major gaming properties that are being adapted as TV shows or movies. And at a time where it feels like it’s only a matter of time before most major gaming franchises get snapped up for similar adaptations, it’s only natural to wonder when we’ll be seeing a Grand Theft Auto film.
Rockstar Games is preparing to reveal the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in early December (perhaps at The Game Awards on December 7th). Despite leaks and reports of scaling down, there’s plenty of hype for the open-world title, rumored to release in 2025. Publisher Take-Two Interactive isn’t setting expectations, though.
Even if the current discussions between studios and video game actors results in a stike, Take-Two says GTA 6 is «completely protected.»
The torturously long wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 is entering is final stretch now. With Rockstar Games having officially confirmed that it will be debuting the first trailer for the title in early December, the end is finally in sight for those who have been waiting for the series’ next instalment for over a decade. But of course, a question that many are still asking is- when exactly will the game come out?
