The torturously long wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 is entering is final stretch now. With Rockstar Games having officially confirmed that it will be debuting the first trailer for the title in early December, the end is finally in sight for those who have been waiting for the series’ next instalment for over a decade. But of course, a question that many are still asking is- when exactly will the game come out?
Though previous reports have suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 could release in 2024, it seems the wait for it might be a little longer than that. As per a recent Twitter post by Rockstar Universe, the game is planned as a 2025 title. Though the initial plan was allegedly to launch the game sometime in 2024, the timeline has apparently changed since then.
Obviously, as is the case with any leak, you should take this with a grain of salt, though it wouldn’t be uncharacteristic of Rockstar two have a two-year-long marketing cycle for a major release. Both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched a couple of years after their respective announcements, and both of them were also hit with delays.
Ourselves and <a href=«https://twitter.com/RockstarINTEL?ref_src=» https:>@RockstarINTEL
have both had our own independent sources which may back up claims that GTAVI will be announced this week, with a trailer early December. Additionally, to the claims made by <a href=«https://twitter.com/business?ref_src=» https:>@business, this is what we know:

From The Last of Us and God of War to Mario and The Legend of Zelda (to name just a few), there has been no shortage of major gaming properties that are being adapted as TV shows or movies. And at a time where it feels like it’s only a matter of time before most major gaming franchises get snapped up for similar adaptations, it’s only natural to wonder when we’ll be seeing a Grand Theft Auto film.
Rockstar Games is preparing to reveal the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in early December (perhaps at The Game Awards on December 7th). Despite leaks and reports of scaling down, there’s plenty of hype for the open-world title, rumored to release in 2025. Publisher Take-Two Interactive isn’t setting expectations, though.
Even if the current discussions between studios and video game actors results in a stike, Take-Two says GTA 6 is «completely protected.»
GTA 6 publisher Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has been on the blower to the company’s investors about the idea of making games using the latest artificial intelligence content generation tools. Echoing his relatively guarded enthusiasm for NFTs a couple of years ago, he’s sort of mixed on them, regarding AI tools less as transformative technologies than simply the latest step towards the eternal industry objective of More, Faster And Better For Less.
Take-Two Interactive revealed today that Grand Theft Auto V has now sold over 190 million units as of the end of September 2023. According to the company, that brings total lifetime sales of the franchise to 410 million units. It announced this number the same day as it officially confirmed the next game in the series, the trailer for which it plans to reveal next month.
Long-suffering Grand Theft Auto fans have been waiting for the series’ next mainline instalment for over a decade now, and though the end is finally in sight, with Grand Theft Auto 6 set to be unveiled next month, GTA 5 continues to sell at an impressive rate, over a decade on from its launch.
After reports circulated by Bloomberg last night, Rockstar Games has officially announced it will be finally showing the first trailer of the next Grand Theft Auto to fans next month.
Rockstar Games could unveil Grand Theft Auto VI this week, according to a report from Bloomberg.
Rockstar Games head Sam Houser confirmed today that the next Grand Theft Auto video game will be introduced in a trailer coming December.
Following rumors, Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that it will reveal the first look at Grand Theft Auto 6 in December.
UPDATE: Rockstar have confirmed the leak and announced a trailer will launch next month!
