In 2022, Striking Distance Studios released The Callisto Protocol, a survival horror game. The game is set in space and centered around a man fighting through the breakout of an illness on a starship, which, in premise and tone, bore stark resemblances to Dead Space. These similarities caught the attention of fans, who were excited to see the project led by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield.
