's DLC has seemingly redeemed the base game after bugs, glitches, and a lackluster story left it as one of the most disappointinggames. In a true turnaround of events, the content has not only given players a reason to return to, but also a host of reasons to get excited for whatever game comes next.
has a different play style compared to most of its predecessors. Players take the role of Gregory, a boy who's been trapped inside Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex overnight, and he finds that there are several mysteries hiding there. In however, players take on the role of Cassie, a young girl and best friend of Gregory who is on a mission to save him.
takes place sometime after the events of with new protagonist Cassie entering the remains of the Mega Pizzaplex which has — according to the local press — been destroyed by an earthquake. Once inside, Cassie finds reason to believe that her friend Gregory is trapped inside the ruins, and it becomes her mission to find and free him.
Of course, being a game, nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Cassie soon finds herself facing deadly threats beyond her wildest imagination. There's also the validity of the voice she's following, with the question being: is Cassie walking into a trap?
The roster of characters is an extensive one, but mostly focuses on new faces rather than returning ones. Ahead of 's release, speculation was high when it came to who might return, especially with the iconic Bonnie animatronic noticeably missing from the Glamrock line-up.
Cassie, Map Bot (now Mask Bot), Helpi, the Daycare Attendant, a suspicious version of Glamrock Freddy, and new big threat The Entity make up the majority of the characters seen in, and one notable sequence does go some way in explaining why Bonnie isn't part of the Glamrock line (and why Monty Gator is, instead).
is an added update to the base game, so the DLC itself is free for players who own. This means that the total cost to be able to play the DLC is the $39.99 USD price tag that's on .
Despite the mixed reception for, the launch of and its much more scary story has helped redeem the base game in the eyes of many. has become a more terrifying and memorable experience due to the additional content, meaning that those who gave up on the base game have found themselves returning for the DLC.
should take players around 4 to 5 hours to beat (according to How Long To Beat), making it a considerable DLC considering the base game is roughly around 10 hours long. For a free update — especially one that paves the way for the next game in the series thanks to the addition of The Entity — is well worth playing.

Freddy Fazbear is the face of , and as a consequence an incarnation of the bear animatronic attempts to kill the player in most entries in the franchise. However, when exploring the lore of in detail, Freddy’s character quickly becomes more complex, which can easily give rise to misconceptions about his true nature. With none of the other characters in the games having quite the same staying power as Freddy, full comprehension of its titular character is evidently crucial to understanding the series.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria involves one of the most famous locations in Middle-earth, but when exactly does the game take place in The Lord of the Rings timeline? A game set in Moria seems like a natural fit for the events of The Lord of the Rings books, but the developers had more options available to them.
is jam-packed with secret locations for players to find, but the means of discovering them is pretty disappointing. Fast travel is essentially the primary method of transportation to each of the game's central locations, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, it’s the smaller, more hidden locations that suffer. This is a shame because many of these areas have intriguing stories attached to them, but the wind is taken out of the sails a bit because of fast travel.
has blossomed from a single game to a series of games, books, and now a movie. As such, it's the perfect time to revisit the games or play them for the first time. However, figuring out how to play the games in chronological order rather than the order in which the games were released can be difficult to determine, given the notoriously convoluted timeline for the series.
Folks, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you all: American Horror Story is good again.
It's hard to say whether one of 's greatest missed opportunities is an oversight or an intentional exclusion. The gamedoes its best to ease players into its lore. They can learn all the basics of the wider galaxy, right up to the nature of the ancient mysteries only solved at the ending of , from the first time they set foot in New Atlantis. However, since most are likely to revisit this major city multiple times across the course of the campaign, players can decide to pace exposition more slowly if they so choose.
