Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.55: New Trial, Mount & MSQ

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will feature an ambiguous ending that will keep players wondering about the third and final part of the trilogy, according to the game's producer.

A planned live-action adaptation of MMO Final Fantasy XIV is officially “dead”, according to the TV series’ producers. A combination of the pandemic and the “size and scale needed to do it right” are apparently to blame, with Amazon reportedly coming closest to making it a reality - but to no avail.

If you thought the idea of a live-action Final Fantasy XIV series sounded like a massive undertaking, you’d be right. One of the executive producers, Dinesh Shamdasani of Hivemind Entertainment, recently confirmed that the project has been canceled. 

The Final Fantasy XIV live-action television series first announced back in 2019 is «dead,» according to the production company that was working on it. Hivemind, which also worked on Netflix's The Witcher, was developing the series with Sony Pictures Television, but co-founder Dinesh Shamdasani revealed on Twitter that the project is dead when asked about it, as reported by PC Gamer.

When it comes to video games, many who play them don’t just want the “memories” of playing them; they want items in the real world that’ll help them remember those memories in a different way. Pre-order items are a big deal in this respect, as people will pay out the nose to get unique items that can only be bought through these special deals. Square Enix decided to up the ante with the upcoming release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth by offering its Reward Members the chance to get a special glitter globe featuring the Gold Saucer from the upcoming title.

On Tuesday morning, you might have seen an Xbox Wire post announcing that said an open beta for Final Fantasy 14 Online is now available on Xbox Series X/S - if you caught it before it was deleted about an hour later. Xbox has now publicly announced that it made an error in sharing the news.

During an interview with Square Enix’s Naoki Yoshida, the Final Fantasy XIV director and XVI producer has revealed that he thinks it might be better for a younger generation of developers to pick up the mantle and work on Final Fantasy XVII. 

Final Fantasy 14 patch 6.55 is now live, adding new main scenario quests, additional chapters to New Game Plus, and more. 

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is coming to PlayStation 5 next month, and Square Enix is kicking its campaign into gear with a brand new trailer and some new screenshots for the much-anticipated second installment in the planned remake trilogy.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a month and a half away from launch, and with excitement surrounding its release continuing to build, Square Enix has offered another look at what the action RPG will offer. Along with releasing a new trailer hyping up Cloud’s imminent battle with Sephiroth, the developer has also revealed some brief new details on some of the locations you’ll be visiting in the game’s massive world, and some of the new characters that will be featured in its expanded cast.
