The Fafnir Rifle is a fantastic late-game weapon for Barret in . It has above-average Attack and Magic Attack stats and, notably, an incredibly powerful ability called Point Blank. This abilityconsumes all of Barret's ATB charges to create an immense concussive blast. Using this ability to quickly finish off a weak enemy or to disperse a dense crowd will be key for some of the game's later fights.
The Fafnir Rifle is rewarded at the end of the "" Odd Job, available upon entering Gongaga in Chapter 9. The side quest involvesfinding rare Draconite ore via photographs for an inspired blacksmith to complete his ultimate weapon. Using the pictures to locate the Draconite can be challenging, but players can go straight to the ore's source without the treasure hunt.

From the Noticeboard, go to Izo's Smithery in Gongaga on 's map, which will trigger a cutscene. The weaponsmith, Izo, frustrated by his lackluster projects, is inspired to create his masterpiece upon seeing Garrett's Gun Arm. He offers to build the gun immediately if the party collects ore for him and directs the party to his nearby toolshed for a «map» leading to the needed materials.
When collecting Izo's map, the party realizes it is actually a series of doodled-on photographs leading to the ore's location. Ordinarily, this would involve going through each photograph and estimating where on the map they match, but players can instead go directly to where the final photograph was shot. Shown in the image above, theore vein is to the west of Izo's smithery, near a set of cliffs overlooking a river.
Upon reaching the large tree in this area, also shown in Izo's photograph, the party will be ambushed by five Daggerwings. Taking advantage of these enemies' weakness to Wind or inflicting enough Ionic Charge damage pressures them, allowing players to take care of these flying obstacles swiftly. Barret will briefly admire his Gun Arm, and the party can continue collecting Draconite Ore.
Players will need to collect eight pieces of Draconite Ore for Izo, which should be fairly straightforward. The ore is a bright purple, and all eight pieces are very close to where the Daggerwings ambushed the party. For visual reference, the eight ore locations are as follows:

Two ores can be found by climbing the nearby rope and hopping over the short ledge to the right.
Heading back up the ledge and into a crevice between two nearby cliffs, an ore will be

Madame Grape is the last boss of , the final obstacle preventing the theater's restoration. As you continue to find paths through the Temple of the Ancients in , you'll run into the Ironclad boss, who can only be beaten when staggered by your party. This massive knight has nearly no weaknesses, making them difficult to pressure. You'll need to use specific attacks from characters on your team to stun this creature quickly enough to defeat it.
The final boss of is Sephiroth, who you have to beat across multiple phases in many different forms. The one-winged angel appears once you defeat the Jenova Lifeclinger boss, challenging not just Cloud but many other characters from the story. With his own Summon and plenty of resistances, it can be hard to anticipate what you need to do during each stage of this battle.
The Djinn is a great Salutor to have early on in with its unique curse skillset. Taming Djinn involves completing the "" side quest, where Wiktor tracks down a market thief and uncovers the reasons behind their pickpocketing spree. Intriguingly, players can also elect to tame Djinn for a secret achievement, but this is best left for later playthroughs.

With precise strategy and a few sacrifices, players should be able to take Rasputin down in one or two attempts.
Bringing the locations of the original to life is one of the most exciting things about , but one region is a clear example of how the game can miss the mark. From the slums of Midgar to the military fortress of Junon, packed a lot of flavor into a globe-trotting adventure. transforms these originally pre-rendered destinations into detailed 3D environments, expanding many of them in size while packing them full of more side content than ever.
During Chapter 8 of , players compete in a Chocobo race to earn their freedom from the Dustbowl. Their Chocobo, Piko, needs nutritious Sylkis Greens to stand a chance in the race. Getting these Sylkis Greens is fairly simple, as completing three of six possible sub-quests is all it takes to get enough Greens to feed Piko.
Krampus is an incredibly powerful Salutor in , focusing on depleting enemies' Focus quickly and dealing damage based on lost Focus. Unlocking him, however, requires completing two hard-to-miss quests in Port Praga. His boss fight is not very difficult, so taming Krampus should only take roughly 20 to 30 minutes from start to finish.
is full of puzzles, collectibles, and challenges, and the city of Costa del Sol is home to one such delight: its Queen's Blood mini-game. This event boasts a Companion Card for Cloud at its end and more rewards along the way, so completing the puzzles is worth it. You'll need the Companion Cards to get vacation-ready outfits, including swimsuits, for Cloud. Alongside the Card Carnival mini-game, the Queen's Blood event also includes the Gold Saucer Mini-Game.
One of the mini-games with the most depth in is Queen's Blood, an intricate card game you can often win if you manage to build a strong deck. You can buy powerful new cards from vendors as your party arrives in different regions throughout story Chapters. Winning matches in Queen's Blood may seem easy at first, but it can become challenging as opponents use unexpected strategies.
's map isn't truly open-world; it's divided into regions, and further areas are unlocked as the player progresses through the story. The regions themselves are pretty wide open, though. Each one comprises a significant bit of real estate on ’s larger Gaia map, and they’re all interconnected, even if players can only travel between them after reaching certain milestones in the story.
