Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of November 27, 2023 to December 3, 2023.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince for Switch was the highest selling new release of the week, opening at 346,583 retail copies sold.
On the hardware side, the Switch family sold 79,055 units, the PlayStation 5 family sold 42,946 units, the Xbox Series family sold 2,190 units, and the PlayStation 4 family sold 853 units.

GOG’s Winter Sale has been updated with its latest free game.
Sales of Sony's PlayStation 5 have crossed 50 million units, the Japanese electronics giant said, pointing to "strong momentum" this year for its flagship gaming console. The PS5 was launched in November 2020, with the world in the grip of the Covid pandemic, and its sales initially suffered because of widespread supply chain problems and a global chip shortage.

Total shipments and digital sales for Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuu wa Kibou de Mawatteru! have surpassed one million units, Konami announced.
PlayStation 5 has surpassed 50 million units sold through to consumers, manufacturer Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder has been consistently posting strong numbers in Japan’s weekly physical software charts, and as per data released by Famitsu, it did so again last week. Selling over 82,000 units, it jump back into the No. 1 spot, with Konami’s Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuu wa Kibou de Mawatteru! coming in at No. 2 with over 62,000 units sold, and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince at No. 3 with over 51,000 units.
Total sales for the Persona 5 series have surpassed 10 million units worldwide, ATLUS announced.
