GOG’s Winter Sale has been updated with its latest free game.
Caveblazers is now free to download until December 25 at 2pm UTC.
To claim the game, players are required to opt in to receive GOG marketing emails.
“Caveblazers is an action focused platformer roguelike set in a fantasy world,” according to its product listing on GOG.
“Each game is unique with procedurally generated levels to explore and a massive amount of items, weapons and equipment to discover.”
Developed by Deadpan Games and published Yogscast Games, the title was released in 2017 and the PC version has a score of 72 on review aggregation site Metacritic.
PC Gamer called it “a varied, challenging platformer that’s adept at forcing improvisation and punishing mistakes in its 84/100 review, while Rock Paper Shotgun’s reviewer said it “captures the craft and chaotic delights of Spelunky better than anything I’ve played since Spelunky”.
Caveblazer is the third of five titles GOG will be giving away during its Winter Sale, which includes over 6,000 offers and discounts of up to 90%, according to CD Projekt.
The Epic Games Store will reportedly give away 17 free games over the Christmas period.
Epic’s Holiday Sale includes major discounts on some of this year’s biggest games, including EA Sports FC 24 for $19 / £16, Hogwarts Legacy for $24 / £20, Alan Wake 2 for $27 / £21.50 and Assassin’s Creed Mirage for $23 / £21.
Steam’s Winter Sale launched on Thursday and includes “huge savings on 1,000s of games”, according to Valve.

Steam broke its record for concurrent users on Sunday.
Steam has unveiled the winners of its annual fan-voted awards. Headlining the categories is the Game of the Year award, which predictably went to Baldur’s Gate 3. The RPG was up against Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports FC 24, Resident Evil 4, and Lethal Company. Baldur’s Gate 3 also managed to walk away with the Outstanding Story-Rich Game award, where it was in competition with Lies of P, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4, and Love Is All Around.
If you’ve already wrapped up your second run of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and you’re bored waiting for the next season of Andor to drop, you might want to check out the deal happening on the Star Wars Complete Collection. This compilation of 26 classic Star Wars games from the Lucasarts era (plus some newer games) is a $293 value, but you can add all of them to your Steam library for just $76. These discounts will last through Jan. 4, 2024.
Whether you got a new gaming PC, a Steam Deck, or an Asus ROG Ally for the holidays, or you just want more kindling for your backlog, Fanatical is selling some stellar Steam games at bargain prices, beating the sale prices of Steam’s very own Winter Sale. You can build a bundle containing two games for $14.99, three for $21.99, five for $34.99, or a whopping seven games for just $47.99.
Steam’s Winter Sale is absolutely packed with savings on games big and small. But the more obscure or overlooked gems are often stuck beneath the pesky algorithm. To save your wrist from the pain of endlessly scrolling, we’ve compiled ten games you’ve probably never played before, all on sale for under $10.
It’s the merriest time of the year, and we’re sure you’re here to admire the most important things in life: deep discounts and the ones you love (online, with a Steam account). Thankfully, the Steam Winter Sale 2023 seems to ensure you’ve got a handle on plenty of both.

Steam’s Winter Sale is currently underway with hundreds of steep discounts across the storefront available until January 4. The festive savings should satisfy gamers no matter what you’re craving this holiday, but Soulslikers in particular should rejoice since the genre’s biggest and bestest are going for cheap.
Having been originally released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and not having received a current generation update, Red Dead Redemption 2 does not support ray tracing, which is a shame, as it would make the game look even more incredible than it already does.

I’m sure we don’t have to tell you just how expensive video games can be. New AAA releases for the current generation console platforms are fetching as high as $69.99. That’s quite a bit more than what some players might be keen on spending. So, knowing what new releases are worth picking up and which is best to set aside for a discount sale is pretty crucial for our bank accounts. If you’re all for saving a buck, then we typically look at showcasing sales and discount promos when possible. For instance, we have a sale right now that we would like to showcase from Steam.
