Demeo developer Resolution Games has announced an officially-licensed Dungeons and Dragons VR game, partnering with Wizards of the Coast for its adaptation of the iconic franchise. The massively popular role-playing game has long been one of the most recognizable franchises in tabletop gaming, spawning a media empire that ranges from novels and video games to web series and more. The game has been particularly prominent in recent years, following the success of spinoffs like Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Baldur's Gate 3.
While Resolution Games has never made an official Dungeons and Dragons game, the developer is already very familiar with its style of gameplay. The Demeo franchise takes plenty of inspiration from the beloved role-playing game, featuring turn-based combat and an Action Point system similar to D&D's Action and Bonus Actions. Demeo also places a heavy focus on virtual reality, releasing for both Oculus Quest and PS VR2 with a VR tabletop environment. Now, Resolution Games is teaming up with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro for an official Dungeons and Dragons VR game.
As reported by IGN, Resolution Games officially announced its newfound partnership with Wizards of the Coast, working together to develop the first virtual reality Dungeons and Dragons game. Within the announcement, Resolution CEO Tommy Palm praised Dungeons and Dragons as «one of the richest fantasy worlds ever created.» Wizards of the Coast's Eugene Evans had equally glowing reviews of Resolution Games, calling the developer an «ideal partner» to bring Dungeons and Dragons to life in virtual reality. No details or release window were revealed at the time, with Resolution Games promising more information to come later.
While the new collaboration with Resolution Games will be Dungeons and Dragons' first official VR game, the franchise already has a rich history with video games. The Dungeons and Dragons franchise has seen consistent video game releases since as early as 1988, with Wizards of the Coast typically partnering with other developers for spinoffs like Neverwinter Nights and Dark Alliance. Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 saw universal acclaim following its release last year, winning the coveted «Game of the Year» award at the 2023 Game Awards.
With a Dungeons and Dragons VR game in the works, Wizards of the Coast is gearing up for a major change coming to the franchise's core tabletop game. The developer is planning to release One D&D later this year as the newest major revision to Dungeons and Dragons' rules. Wizards of the Coast has already rolled out multiple playtests, showing off the changes to major mechanics like Dungeons and Dragons' Feat system, playable classes, and plenty more. Between

I'm ending a week packed with Steam Next Fest demos on a high note with Gatekeeper, a top-down bullet hell roguelike clearly inspired by Risk of Rain. Pick a character, drop into a medley of environments, and shoot dudes while hoovering up items until the number stops getting bigger. It's a familiar formula with a new perspective, and while there are some mechanical and artistic similarities to Risk of Rain and its sequel, Gatekeeper feels like it's found its own identity.
Lego has been making Star Wars sets for 25 years, and it seems the two will be collaborating more than ever this year to celebrate that milestone. Adding to the rumors that a new Death Star set will launch this year is news that an additional two sets, both pulling from very popular areas of a galaxy far, far away, will join it. Best of all for Knights of the Old Republic fans, one of those sets will include a Darth Malak Minifigure.

Not too many details about the game have been revealed aside from the fact that it will be the first official Dungeons and Dragons VR game.
Death Stranding is getting a special edition controller to commemorate the game’s upcoming release on Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro later this month. Hideo Kojima’s 2019 action title earned warm reviews for its haunting dystopian atmosphere, themes of connection and isolation that grew increasingly resonant in the years that followed its launch, and an ambitious cast of celebrity actors that included the likes of Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. Two years after the original’s PS4 release, Death Stranding: Director's Cut was launched for the PlayStation 5 in 2021, featuring enhanced graphics and a wealth of new gameplay content.
Veteran pen-and-paper RPG Dungeons & Dragons is getting its first official virtual reality game. Before you get all excited about being able to let Astarion bite your neck in first-person or shack up with a bear-shaped druid using hand tracking, know that it’s more likely to be a virtual reality experience emulating the original experience of rolling dice on a tabletop. Still, that’s what imaginations are for, right?
Nintendo and Lego continue to enjoy huge amounts of success together through their Super Mario Lego sets, and in March that world will expand via the release of the first waves of Animal Crossing sets. Animal Crossing being the first Nintendo series to get the Lego treatment after Mario makes sense considering New Horizons' massive sales numbers. It has felt like there must be a Zelda set or two coming though, and four years after the first rumors surfaced, 2024 might finally be the year that happens.

Madame Web represents Sony's ongoing efforts to establish a Spider-Man universe without the direct inclusion of the superhero. Initially, the production giant had planned to reintroduce fans to a familiar version of Spider-Man, but those plans have reportedly changed.
Apple was probably the last company to adopt the Always-On display technology on the iPhone. However, Apple waits for the technology to advance before using it. The Always-On display on the iPhone is a lot different than the competition as it shows a dimmed version of the Lock Screen wallpaper, even after the device has been locked. Companies like Samsung and Google only utilize the Always-On display for time and notifications. The rest of the pixels are turned off. This time, Samsung has copied Apple's Always-On display design on its Galaxy S24 series.
