Dungeons and Dragons is Getting Its Own VR Game

Dungeons and Dragons just revealed the release dates of a half dozen new books it has planned over the next year. These six new Dungeons and Dragons books include the revised Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual, which will be released as a part of the One D&D project.

I'm ending a week packed with Steam Next Fest demos on a high note with Gatekeeper, a top-down bullet hell roguelike clearly inspired by Risk of Rain. Pick a character, drop into a medley of environments, and shoot dudes while hoovering up items until the number stops getting bigger. It's a familiar formula with a new perspective, and while there are some mechanical and artistic similarities to Risk of Rain and its sequel, Gatekeeper feels like it's found its own identity.

Resolution Games, known for its work on the VR board game Demeo, has announced a partnership with Wizards of the Coast to develop a VR title based on Dungeons and Dragons. Not too many details about the game have been revealed aside from the fact that it will be the first official Dungeons and Dragons VR game.

Veteran pen-and-paper RPG Dungeons & Dragons is getting its first official virtual reality game. Before you get all excited about being able to let Astarion bite your neck in first-person or shack up with a bear-shaped druid using hand tracking, know that it’s more likely to be a virtual reality experience emulating the original experience of rolling dice on a tabletop. Still, that’s what imaginations are for, right?

Nintendo and Lego continue to enjoy huge amounts of success together through their Super Mario Lego sets, and in March that world will expand via the release of the first waves of Animal Crossing sets. Animal Crossing being the first Nintendo series to get the Lego treatment after Mario makes sense considering New Horizons' massive sales numbers. It has felt like there must be a Zelda set or two coming though, and four years after the first rumors surfaced, 2024 might finally be the year that happens.

The Always-On display on the iPhone is a lot different than the competition as it shows a dimmed version of the Lock Screen wallpaper, even after the device has been locked. Companies like Samsung and Google only utilize the Always-On display for time and notifications. The rest of the pixels are turned off. This time, Samsung has copied Apple's Always-On display design on its Galaxy S24 series.
