The production studio altered its course and decided to include Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Yet, Sony acknowledged a timeline error caused by Madame Web reportedly being set in the '90s, prompting them to reshoot and eliminate any references to Spider-Man and a specific year. Sneider also indicated that the primary reason for the movie's reshoots was to eliminate all '90s references, ensuring alignment with the timelines. Additionally, the insider cautioned fans by saying they shouldn’t expect any '90s references in the movie.

Given the close connection of Madame Web's comic book tales to Spider-Man's, it initially appeared impossible to envision a feature film for her without some involvement from Spider-Man.
