Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is finally giving Goku Black his iconic scythe weapon as part of his Ultra Supervillain form in the upcoming Future Saga DLC.
Dragon Ball Super might occasionally get some flak for its weird pacing and its inferior handling of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F sagas, but it also introduced some incredibly iconic characters who have become some of the most beloved in the series. Beerus, Whis, Jiren, and more stand out as obvious examples, but one of the most popular is Goku Black.
Sure, Goku Black might just look like a darker version of Goku, but that hasn't stopped him from rising as a fan -favourite across Dragon Ball media. That includes Dragon Ball games such as Xenoverse and FighterZ, although it's fair to say that his appearance in the former wasn't quite as beloved as it could have been.
One of the biggest reasons that Goku Black falls a little short in Xenoverse 2 is because he doesn't have one of his most iconic weapons as part of his special skills. The glowing pink scythe that he gets as part of his Super Saiyan Rose transformation has weirdly been missing in action ever since the character debuted in Xenoverse 2, with fans calling for him to get a new move that adds it to his moveset.
What makes Goku Black not having his scythe even worse is that he actually has an empty skill slot that isn't used by another ability. Surely that would be where the scythe shows up?
Well, it only took seven years, but Xenoverse 2 has finally addressed Goku Black's biggest flaw... kind of. Yesterday, the official Dragon Ball Games Twitter account showed off the Ultra Supervillain version of Goku Black that's coming to the game as part of the Future Saga DLC pack. Beyond giving him a new look, it also adds some new moves for the beloved villain.
As pointed out by Twitter user SLOplays, several of those moves have Goku Black wielding the iconic ki scythe and using it as part of his combos. It's not clear right now if it's a special ability or part of his regular combos, but it hardly matters when we're finally getting a version of the character with such a popular move.
Now we just need some of those special skills to be given to the normal version of the character, and we'll all be happy.

On February 29, Dragon Ball FighterZ finally got its long-requested rollback netcode update along with a free upgrade to the newly released PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. This update was meant to improve upon Dragon Ball FighterZ's online environment, as the previous console and PC versions used delay-based netcode. However, once the update went live, instead of fixing the online environment, it only broke the game instead.

While the franchise may be known for blitzing through demon-infested halls as fast as possible while also gunning down hordes of monsters, one dedicated speedrunner managed to do it faster than anyone else, shattering a long-standing world record. Given the games' emphasis on speed, it's no wonder why id Software's seminal first-person shooters are so popular amongst the speedrunning community. It's a game that's incredibly accessible to learn but infinitely difficult to master, so much so that many believe some of the older records are impossible to beat but every once in a while, someone proves the naysayers wrong.
