A new set of screenshots for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero seem to have sneakily confirmed that non-canon movie content is going to be appearing in the game.
For as much as we know about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero (like the return of Giant characters, the massive 164-character roster, and nearly all of Goku and Vegeta's transformations), there's still a ton that we haven't seen yet. One of the biggest questions that fans have had about the game, especially since seeing the roster size, is whether non-canon content from movies and GT is going to be represented at all.
So far, we've only seen characters from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, with no word about OG Dragon Ball, Daima, or the non-canon content from GT and the movies. Although some rumours have suggested characters from these series will be DLC and announced at a later date, so far we've got no evidence of them appearing at all.
Until now, that is. As showcased by Twitter user DbsHype, Saikyo recently did a magazine feature that, just like the recent issue of V-Jump, gave us a better look at Goku and Vegeta's moves. Although most of what's shown is from the trailer and stuff that we already knew, there are a few new screenshots that show off some new abilities from Goku and Vegeta.
One of those screenshots shows Goku firing off a golden beam while in his Super Saiyan 3 form. Although it might just look like a ki blast at first, the translations reveal, as pointed out by Twitter user ZiedTa, that he's actually using the Super Dragon Twin Fists move from Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. This is notable because it seemingly confirms that non-canon movie content will be present in Sparking Zero.
This is also the first time we've seen the move used in a mainline Dragon Ball game, as it previously only appeared in Dokkan Battle.
Although we only currently know that the move is showing up in the game, it does give some hope that at least Janemba and a few other popular movie villains are going to be playable in Sparking Zero. It also gives some hope that GT, which is also largely considered non-canon, might also have some representation.
