Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the newest Budokai Tenkaichi, is hosting a gameplay showcase tomorrow at 7am PT (3pm CET / 2pm GMT) that will last around 13 minutes.
It's reportedly launching in late 2024 or early 2025, but perhaps this reveal will finally give us a more concrete release date. Maybe it'll even shed light on a couple of other rumours yet to be confirmed, like whether Sparking Zero will have a split-screen mode and non-canon movie content. With it being 13 minutes, we're gonna see a lot of the game, so time will tell what reveals developer Spike Chunsoft has up its sleeve.
We got our first gameplay reveal in December during The Game Awards 2023 after a lengthy five years in development, giving us our first look at Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Frieza in action. The game itself, though not called Sparking Zero at the time, was first revealed a year ago on March 6, 2023. So, it's been a long time coming, especially given that the last entry in the series was released way back in 2007.
Spike Chunsoft also recently gave us our first look at Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta, finally remedying the infamous "banana" hair. We've even seen the pair in Super Saiyan Blue (and we got a glimpse at Super Trunks during the TGA reveal).
Sparking Zero isn't the only new Dragon Ball content underway. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Xenoverse 2's current-gen update is set to launch on May 24 for PS5 and Xbox Series X, complete with save data transfer so you can keep all of your progress. To boot, more playable characters and additional scenarios are in the works for DLC.
Dragon Ball FighterZ also recently released a rollback netcode and current-gen update, but it didn't go down too well. Spectating broke as animations remained on screen, cluttering fights with copies of each character, while models froze in T-posing positions. Regardless, there's a lot of Dragon Ball gaming on the horizon, capped off by the long-awaited return of Budokai Tenkaichi.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is continuation of the fighting game series dating back to 2005.

The developers of Dragon Ball FighterZ have stated a big fix will be coming to the game to address the issues introduced with its new rollback netcode. Near the end of February, a new update for Dragon Ball FighterZ added rollback netcode to almost all versions of the game, with the Switch version being the only exception. Dragon Ball FighterZ's PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions were released the same day as this update. While the rollback netcode was meant to improve the online environment of Dragon Ball FighterZ, fans have found the update has broken the game instead.
Bandai Namco highlighted two unique transformations for Goku Black and Vegeta that will be added in the next big content update for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Eight years after its initial release, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is still going strong to this day. Dimps and Bandai Namco have continued to support the game with free updates and paid DLC, adding new playable characters and character transformations. The next content update will be part of a new Saga exclusive to Xenoverse 2.
17 years ago, Akira Toriyama provided art for the cult classic Xbox 360 JRPG Blue Dragon, and after the Dragon Ball creator's death, Microsoft is paying tribute with a piece of dynamic background art for modern Xbox consoles.
The latest trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has seemingly confirmed that certain characters won't be able to fly, which was the case in previous Budokai Tenkaichi games.

There has been plenty of new Dragon Ball material released since 2007’s Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and Sparking Zero has already confirmed content from the more recent Dragon Ball Super anime.
