CD Projekt Red has announced the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on December 5. This edition bundles the base game, all DLC, as well as this year’s Phantom Liberty expansion.
The base game, initially criticized for poor performance and bugs upon its December 2020 release, has received numerous updates over the last couple of years in an effort not only to improve the game, but to demonstrate CDPR’s commitment to righting things with fans disappointed with the initial release. These efforts culminated with release of update 2.0, CP2077’s largest and most substantial update yet.
Additional details from CDPR’s announcement:
“This new release is the perfect way to experience every story of the dark future; it also contains the free Update 2.0, which overhauled many of the game’s systems, introducing dynamic skill trees, high-octane vehicle combat, and enhanced enemy and police AI — as well as adding new weapons, vehicles, and clothes. The release is bolstered with a set of previously released digital goodies available as part of the “My Rewards” program, available to all who register.”
In a bit of a win for fans of physical media, Phantom Liberty will be available on-disc for the Xbox version ofCyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, though the PlayStation 5 and PC versions will include a download code instead.

One particular part in the first trailer could be an indicator of one of the upcoming game's major features. The trailer introduced players to the game's main protagonists, Lucia and Jason, and showcased a revamped, modernized version of Vice City and the wider Florida-inspired area of Leonida, with some of its more eccentric citizens on full display through in-game social media videos.
In addition to Update 2.1 going live for all players, Cyberpunk 2077’s Ultimate Edition is out on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It’s the definitive edition and includes the base game, Phantom Liberty expansion, all updates released thus far (including Update 2.1) and digital goodies from the “My Rewards” program for $59.99.
Adam Smasher is supposed to be a near-legendary threat to Night City itself, built up through in-game and out-of-game lore. As the final boss of and a memorable character in the anime, he should have been an epic battle that players made it through by the barest of margins. Instead, he was a relative weakling and a huge letdown for players once they went toe-to-toe with him as V. After patch 2.1, however, he is much closer to the reputation that precedes him.
Cyberpunk 2077 is getting its last major update tomorrow, as CD Projekt Red moves away from the three-year-old RPG. It will add a bunch of fan-requested features, like a portable radio, more bikes, and a functioning metro system.

When CD Projekt Red reintroduced Cyberpunk 2077 to the gaming industry at E3 2018, it did so with a trailer that opened on the image of Night City’s convoluted subway system. Now, half a decade removed from that iconic moment (not to mention three years after the game’s rocky launch), the studio is finally ready to add an honest-to-goodness metro to its game’s gritty, neon-soaked setting.
Turns out CD Projekt has even more plans for Cyberpunk beyond its 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty earlier this year. During a stream detailing the update with developers Paweł Sasko and Monika Janowska, the team at CD Projekt revealed Cyberpunk will be getting a 2.1 update soon that will add a fully functional metro, radioport, replayable car races, boss fight improvements, accessibility features, and more. The updated will be available December 5 (the same day Rockstar is launching the trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto), which will also mark the release of Cyberpunk 2077's Ultimate Edition.
With a Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer on the horizon, Netflix just got its hands on Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, the company announced today.
