Cyberpunk 2077 is getting its last major update tomorrow, as CD Projekt Red moves away from the three-year-old RPG. It will add a bunch of fan-requested features, like a portable radio, more bikes, and a functioning metro system.
Patch 2.1 is set to go live tomorrow, the same day that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launches. This will be the first current-gen physical release of the game, having previously just launched on PS4 and Xbox One discs.
CD Projekt Red just clarified to IGN that "Update 2.1 is meant to be the last big update". While this doesn't mean that the studio is pulling support entirely, it does suggest that we shouldn't expect any other new features to be added, as devs are likely to pivot to bug fixes instead.
Patch 2.1 being the last big update isn't too surprising. It's already been confirmed that the next Cyberpunk game will enter development next year, and that's not even getting into all the work being done on the next Witcher title. The company certainly has its hands full.
It's not clear if this ongoing support will include performance improvements too, especially as the Xbox Series S still struggles to run Phantom Liberty in places, at least in my experience. Over on PS5, the most major save file-related issues in Phantom Liberty have been addressed, so no one should lose progress anymore.
Back to the version 2.1 update, it's likely to be a crowd-pleaser. A useable metro system has been a popular request for years, with some fans already modding one into the game. Now, everyone will be able to use it, and the devs even teased that we might run into some encounters while we travel across the city on public transport. If you get a quiet journey, however, you can just sit back with the new portable radio and listen to some tunes, all while soaking in the atmosphere.
One far less relaxing change comes to us in the form of reworked boss fights. Many of these encounters have been overhauled, specifically to increase the difficulty. Adam Smasher was signalled out as one of the bosses receiving changes after fans complained that his fight was too easy. Now, he'll pull out some of the moves he used in the Edgerunners anime - and we can all remember how that went down. It will at least make dealing the final blow all the more satisfying, although we'll have to see if this fight lives up to the hype when the update goes live tomorrow.

Insomniac is not quite yet done with adding new content to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Although the promised accessibility update and New Game Plus mode haven’t launched yet, more features are coming.
Three years on from a legendarily catastrophic launch that jeopardized CD Projekt Red's once-sterling reputation, Cyberpunk 2077 has completely turned it around. After failing to nab a Game Award for its initial launch (eligible at the 2021 TGA), Cyberpunk took home an award for Best Ongoing Game at this year's show.
has come a long way from its bungled launch in December 2020. The massive 2.0 update overhauled many of the game’s systems. The newest version, Update 2.1, went live today, December 5, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. While the changes may not be as drastic, the new version includes several exciting new features.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is now out, packaging together the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. In conjunction with this release, CD Projekt RED has released Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1, adding the ability to listen to the radio anywhere, replayable car races, more likelihood of car chases triggering, and taking your lover back to your apartment as many times as you want. The full patch notes are below.

The Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 is available today on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. However, those who own the game can download Update 2.1 for free. It’s live now, according to CD Projekt RED on Twitter.
Patch 2.1, Cyberpunk 2077’s final major update, drops today alongside the game’s Ultimate Edition.
I was expecting 2.0 to be Cyberpunk 2077's last big update—which made me pretty dang surprised and excited to hear that a follow-up patch, 2.1, actually has some good meat to its bones.
Cyberpunk 2077 is getting the last major update before developer CD Projekt Red moves on to the next project. Dubbed ‘Update 2.1,' the patch finally brings the long-requested metro system, the ability to hang out with romantic partners, radios, and a ton of quality-of-life changes. It drops alongside the Ultimate Edition on December 5 at 4:30pm IST in India/ 12pm CET in Europe. Bear in mind that this is a free downloadable update, so it won't be included natively in the physical disc versions releasing on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. That said, the 2.0 Update released in September will be included across all versions, entirely overhauling the perk system and adding a range of tech augmentations, which weren't present in the original 2020 version.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive its final significant patch today, December 5, which plans to add «some of the most requested features» before rounding off significant updates for the game, as confirmed by IGN.
The patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077’s massive Update 2.1 are now available before it goes live tomorrow, detailing other changes coming to Night City alongside the new metro system, motorcycles, Radioport and more. Check out the trailer below for a quick overview of the major new features.
