NBA 2K24 is just around the corner as it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 8. Today, 2K and Visual Concepts revealed the upgrades to this year’s officially licensed NBA game with a focus on foundational changes to the mode. This will include MTP earn rates, a new Player Market, Crossplay and more. Crossplay will be tied to the newer generation version, only, as the separation of the previous generation begins to grow larger. There have already been modes and aspects announced that will not be on the previous version of the game, and that includes both the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Citizen Sleeper was one of 2022’s biggest sleeper (sorry) hits, so when developer Jump Over the Age and publisher Fellow Traveller announced a sequel earlier this year, the news was naturally met with plenty of excitement. And though details on what platforms Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will be targeting weren’t shared at the time, there is more clarity on that front now.

Edia has launched a Makuake crowdfunding campaign seeking 3 million yen (approx. $20,700) to fund the release of Cosmic Fantasy Collection 2 for Switch. It is planned for release sometime after December 2023 in Japan.

Publisher Headup Games and developer Sunny Peak have announced side-scrolling platformer Symphonia for console and PC (Steam). Specific console platforms were not announced. It will launch in early 2024.

Clover Bite has announced Metroidvania sequel GRIME II for PC (Steam). A release date was not announced.

Geoff Keighley will host The Game Awards 2023 on December 7 at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, he announced as part of Gamescom 2023: Opening Night Live. 2023 will mark the 10th anniversary of the annual award show.

Publisher Panic and developer Coal Supper have announced “comedy slapformer” adventure game Thank Goodness You’re Here! for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) as part of Gamescom 2023: Opening Night Live. It will launch in 2024.

Almost seven years since Killing Floor 2 first released, Tripwire Interactive has announced Killing Floor 3 at Gamescom Opening Night Live. Set in 2091, it sees a Horzine back at it again, creating an army of Zeds to do their bidding. You work for Nightfall, a rebel group, to fight back for humanity’s sake.

Movie, as well as several celebrity appearances and a ton of major reveals in the world of gaming en route to attracting 103 million global viewers. This year looks to be no different, as the 10th annual The Game Awards arrives at the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft Theater) in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Microsoft has announced that it is launching console wraps for the Xbox Series X, allowing players to customise their current-gen console. Kicking things off is the announcement of an Xbox Series X console wrap featuring a Starfield design. The Starfield design console wrap has been created to pair quite well with the game’s limited edition Xbox Wireless Controller and headset, which were unveiled back in June.
