Capcom isn’t Interested in Acquiring External Studios, or Being Acquired by Someone Else

From classics like Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoroto its latest film, The Boy and the Heron, Studio Ghibli has delighted viewers of all ages with its signature animation style and heart-wrenching stories. The acclaimed Japanese studio, which was started by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata and Toshio Suzuki, has gone on to craft some of the most memorable — and commercially successful — films in Japanese media history. It has garnered fans from around the world who love its immersive characters and worlds.

CD Projekt has seemingly hinted at plans to further collaborate with animation company Studio Trigger.

At TGS last week, Capcom president and CESA chairman Haruhiro Tsujimoto reignited everyone's favourite discourse subject: the price of games. As Nikkei (via Switchsoku) reports, Tsujimoto was discussing the topic of rising development costs, where he claimed that «game prices are too low». 

Capcom's president and chief operating officer has said he thinks game prices should go up.

Many studios have recently moved towards a $70 price tag for their games, despite pushback from fans. Now, as this is increasingly becoming the norm, Capcom seems poised to join them, saying that its current price point is just "too low" compared to the cost of development.
