Capcom Boss Would ‘Gracefully Decline’ Any Microsoft Buyout Offer

The greatest ever catchphrase in a Capcom game has been revealed, following a public vote.

In a mesmerising tech-meets-fashion moment at the Paris Fashion Show, Humane, a startup founded by ex-Apple design and engineering team Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, has revealed its latest creation, the Humane Ai Pin. This was during the roll out of the 2024 Spring Summer show by renowned fashion house Coperni. This wearable device, reminiscent of a combadge, boasts a camera and a screen projector, and it's turning heads for all the right reasons.

Capcom has provided an update on Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, a remastered collection of the second trilogy of games in the franchise. With the above new trailer, we've had more details on what to expect from the collection, as well as its release date. It'll be fighting for justice on PS4 on 25th January, 2024. The games releasing in Q1 2024 are really adding up.

The price of mainstream, triple-A video games is $70, but for Capcom president Harushiro Tsujimoto, games are still priced "too low" for his liking. Talking at last week's Tokyo Game Show (according to Nikkei and translated by Kotaku), Tsujimoto believes games should increase in price to reflect how much they cost to make.

Many studios have recently moved towards a $70 price tag for their games, despite pushback from fans. Now, as this is increasingly becoming the norm, Capcom seems poised to join them, saying that its current price point is just "too low" compared to the cost of development.

Theorizing over potential and real acquisition deals remains top of mind in the games industry, thanks in no small part to Microsoft’s pending buyout of Activision Blizzard. It’s easy to forget that not every large gaming publisher is looking to get acquired in the first place. Capcom, for one, recently noted that its active strategy is to remain independent, even though it’s open to more collaborative projects should the opportunity arise.

If you picked up an iPhone 15 Pro this past weekend and are eagerly awaiting the chance to play Resident Evil Village on your smartphone, you might not have to wait much longer, as Capcom has quietly revealed that the iPhone and iPad port of Resident Evil Village is out on October 30.

Between Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and myriad other games, Capcom is on a roll. So if you’re a fan, you might be worried that a bigger company, say, Microsoft – which is getting closer to completing its buyout of Activision Blizzard – is about to swoop in and gobble them up. Fortunately, Capcom has confirmed that’s not going to happen.
