First reported by the New York Times, a major chapter in Activision Blizzard's reckoning over an alleged internal culture of misogyny and harassment has ended. Baldur's Gate 3 Traps You In The House Of Hope For Using Sussur Weapons

Baldur's Gate 3, despite being brilliant well-written, is a very buggy game. A lot of that is down to it having so many moving parts, and most of them are harmless, but there's a nasty bug going around right now that stops NPCs from starting their cutscenes if they've been silenced.
Not a huge deal for the most part, as there are multiple ways you can approach most quests, but there is one NPC you may want to avoid silencing at all costs. According to a Baldur's Gate 3 fan on the game's subreddit called NewSheepHerder2215, you can accidentally trap yourself in The House of Hope should you silence Raphael when he approaches you with a deal in Sharess' Caress in Act 3.
In the post, they explain that they attempted to see if you could kill Raphael in Sharess' Caress by silencing him with a Sussur weapon to stop him from teleporting away. Things were apparently going quite smoothly until Raphael ended up teleporting anyway, even though he went with a two-turn silence condition applied to him.
Fast-forward two hours of gameplay to The House of Hope and the player is left perplexed as to why the portal back to Devil's Fee isn't working. Turns out that you need the cutscene with Raphael for the portal to function as intended, which doesn't activate due to the fact that NewSheepHerder2215 silenced Raphael over two hours ago.
Baldur's Gate 3 also doesn't let you fast-travel or make your way back to your camp while you're inside The House of Hope, meaning this player was now doomed to forever walk its halls with their party for the rest of their character's days. Not exactly the climactic death in the heat of battle that many brave warriors hope for.
NewSheepHerder2215 explains that they went to The House of Hope immediately after beating up Raphael in Sharess' Caress, so reverting to a previous save wasn't too devastating, but it could be an absolutely traumatic loss of progress for someone completely unaware of the silencing glitch.
So, consider this your warning. If you are feeling a bit feisty when encountering Raphael in Act 3 and have a Sussur weapon equipped for whatever reason, you may want to whack him with something else instead, else you'll be trapped in The House of Hope for eternity. At least that has to be better than turning into a mind flayer though.
