Baldur's Gate 3 PS5 Should Have Two Huge Patches Built-in for Launch | Push Square

In the not too distant past, some people would have called you mad for suggesting that CRPGs could work on consoles — but here we are. Baldur's Gate 3 is the latest example of the genre finding a comfortable home on PlayStation, and those eggheads over at Digital Foundry reckon it's a good fit on PS5.

Hogwarts Legacy and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon have swapped positions with one another to hand the Harry Potter simulator a top spot in the latest UK physical sales charts, while FromSoftware's mech game slips to fifth. Gacha games are leaking out of the PS5's ports and cables at the moment as it's confirmed DanMachi Battle Chronicle will join the likes of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Project Mugen on the platform in the future. Street Fighter 6’s first Character Pass is coming quicker than we initially anticipated, with the oddball A.K.I. arriving as early as 27th September. Capcom fully detailed the character with a huge trailer and PlayStation Blog post overnight, confirming that the slithery individual is able to inject poison into enemies who dare to stand too close to her. Consider her a new type of Poison, then, eh?

We’ve known for quite some time that Sony, in its current guise, doesn’t care much for its core consumers – but overnight, it proved it. The platform holder nonchalantly announced price hikes to the annual tiers of its various PS Plus subscriptions – and these are significant jumps, not just minor alterations.

Sony’s previously announced Remote Play portable for PS5, the PS Portal, will officially launch on 15th November – as dated overnight. Pre-orders are open now in select countries via the platform holder’s own direct-to-consumer storefront, PS Direct. The manufacturer says pre-orders will open at other retailers on 29th September.

One of the worst-received PS Plus Essential refreshes has now arrived: Saints Row, Generation Zero, and Black Desert are available to download across the UK and Europe, with the USA set to join the fun later in the day. They are yours to keep for as long as you maintain a subscription to the base tier, and they'll be available for claiming until Tuesday, 3rd October 2023.

PSVR2 hit C-Smash VRS will receive a huge overhaul on 14th September 2023 that adds new modes, more than 40 new stages, and a host of other features in a free update. The big highlight is an Infinity mode, which as the name suggests, tasks you with keeping the ball in play for as long as possible while avoiding oncoming hazards. You can then take the mode online in two-player co-op, as detailed in the trailer above.
