UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy on Top as Armored Core 6 Drops | Push Square

Gfk’s top ten for the best-selling physical titles in the UK for the week ending September 23rd is now available. As reported by Games Industry’s Christopher Dring on Twitter, Mortal Kombat 1 debuted on top, while NEOWIZ’s Lies of P took third place. The former saw the most sales on PS5, with Xbox Series X/S in second and Nintendo Switch last.

Hogwarts Legacy has reclaimed the top spot of the UK Boxed Charts this week, with a 214% spike in sales on Xbox Series X|S due to ongoing price promotions.

Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield had over one million concurrent players at launch and over six million players in total, and it seems to have scored big at retail as well. While the full UK physical retail charts from Gfk aren’t available yet, GamesIndustry’s Christopher Dring confirmed that it debuted in first place.

One of the worst-received PS Plus Essential refreshes has now arrived: Saints Row, Generation Zero, and Black Desert are available to download across the UK and Europe, with the USA set to join the fun later in the day. They are yours to keep for as long as you maintain a subscription to the base tier, and they'll be available for claiming until Tuesday, 3rd October 2023.

PSVR2 hit C-Smash VRS will receive a huge overhaul on 14th September 2023 that adds new modes, more than 40 new stages, and a host of other features in a free update. The big highlight is an Infinity mode, which as the name suggests, tasks you with keeping the ball in play for as long as possible while avoiding oncoming hazards. Gfk’s latest physical sales charts for the United Kingdom are yet to be fully detailed. However, Chris Dring of Games Industry revealed that Starfield’s Premium Upgrade entered seventh place in the UK’s top ten.

As the school holidays wind to a close, and those heady weeks of FIFA games and lengthy RPG sessions fade into memory, my household has had one last gaming hurrah. Despite the PS5 being Sony’s flagship format these days, its previous generation console the PS4 continues to receive robust software support from most major publishers. It’s perhaps not a gigantic surprise that Konami has committed to releasing its retro compilation Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 on the decade-old device then.
